QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Under no circumstances. Every effort should be made to save the life of the child and the mother.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Every effort should be made to preserve life.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants and Medicaid funding).

Strongly Agree

Endorsement with Taxpayer money and endorsement through actions of our government should not be allowed. It causes clear harm to the child and long term harm to the mother. Abortion has been the single greatest monstrosity mankind has ever been a part of, greater than that of slavery and the Holocaust. Over 64 million lives have been lost through the practice of abortion.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

There is far more than enough tax revenue to fully fund the primary functions of government. Currnently, over half our budget is spent on functions outside the primary functions of government. The Income Tax (the penalty on production) should be eliminated. Grocery Tax (Mississippi has the highest in the nation) should be changed. Overall Tax Burden must be reduced. Mississippi provides food to the world at low cost but taxes its own citizens at the grocery store at the highest rate in the nation. Our residents want Roads, Bridges, Clean Water, Common Infrastructure across the State, Law Enforcement/Judiciary, Military and only 25% of our budget is spent on these areas.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Spending should be focused on Law Enforcement, Military, Common Infrastructure across the State. As it stands those functions receive a small fraction of the State's budget. Other areas are better addressed by the private sector in a competitive free market environment.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Private Business and Families should be allowed to fully make decisions for themselves. Force or coercion should never be used by government to interfere in these matters.

Under what circumstances should government close churches?

Never. This should have never happened during Covid or any other time. The Church and members can and should always make these decisions for themselves.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare? A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare options (includes "universal healthcare," "Medicare for all," etc.); B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options; C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but the government should reform healthcare to maximize private health insurance options; D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

D The answer is removing the red tape that government brings to healthcare, opening more avenues for coverage and treatment, increasing the competition among healthcare providers and health insurance providers. Veterans/Law Enforcement should have

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Individuals should be informed to make decisions for themselves but never mandated.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Counter Terrorism with a heavy hand. Not cave to threats or cater to the enemy. Be kind to those that support peace and attack those that threaten our way of life. Counter attacks heavily and quickly. Control our borders. Have a legitimate path to citizenship for those that seek it legally. Teach our children the circumstances which led to the founding of our great country, the Christian principles held by our founding fathers, and the great cost we have paid to keep it.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Borders should be controlled. Our National Guard should be the leading force in doing so. Allowing potential threats into our country should cease. We should have a legitimate, earned path to citizenship for those that are vetted and seek it legally.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Allowing potential threats into our country should cease. We should have a legitimate, earned path to citizenship for those that are vetted and seek it legally.

EDUCATION

The state should prioritize education funding by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of focusing on programs and administrators.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the ability to send their tax dollars, the tax dollars allocated to education of their children, to go with the child to the school of their choice. As it stands, there is a monopoly on those dollars, with a mandate that they go to one school, and no other options. No single school can fit every unique child, their individual unique abilities, and concerns of parents. We need diversity in school offerings.

If you support giving parents more educational options, please list all of the following options that apply and in priority order: A) A universal Education Savings Account (ESA) program; B) An ESA program for low-income children only; C) Expanding tax credits for businesses to give to private schools; D) Expanding public charter schools; E) Allowing homeschoolers to take classes at the local public school.

A) I have some support for all options mentioned but give priority to a universal Education Savings account program. Allowing parents to use high percentage of the per-pupil state allocated dollars to be used at the school or homeschool of their choice.

What most closely matches your view on pornography? A) I agree with the American Library Association that any person of any age should have access to any book; B) Library collections, displays and events should be curated using age-appropriate guidelines, similar to what we do for movies (G, PG, R, etc.); C) Mississippi libraries should follow state laws that prevent pornography from being accessible to minors.

C) Mississippi Libraries should follow state laws that prevent pornography from being accessible to minors.

VALUES

What most closely matches your view on marriage? A) Anything goes; B) Marriage between one man and one woman should be promoted and encouraged; C) A divorce should be hard to get; D) Marriage is important, but no-fault divorce should be allowed.

B) Marriage between one man and one woman should be promoted and encouraged.

Judeo-Christian values establish a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Our limited government is highly dependent on the framework of morality established by our founding Judeo-Christian values.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Each individual was created Male or Female.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Any union, outside of God-ordained Marriage between one man and one woman, is not marriage. Government cannot redefine marriage.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

It's the strong leaders of our country that fought against racism. The United States, if any country in the world was fundamentally racist, would be the least of any. We should never teach any child of any race that they are at disadvantage or advantage due to their race. There is no truth and no value to doing so, very harmful to children who receive this lie, and should never be permitted. This teaching does not fit the American Story, nor the stories of individuals throughout past and pre

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Saved by Christ, after confessing my sin and need for Him to enter my life and take my life, under a tree, outside a Chapel at age 13. Prior to that, I knew God as the Creator and Father as far back as I can remember. When He became my Savior, life was forever changed, not easier, but filled with joy in my salvation and help in all circumstances. I am not the focus of my efforts. He is. Educated in Presbyterian and Baptist schools as well as private non-Christian and Public School. Participated in Methodist youth group. Served in several fields of those Churches. I am active in The Church but more specifically I am currently active in Community Church of Oxford (Baptist) and frequently visit other Churches that adhere to the whole and accurate truth given to us in the Word of God (The Bible). I confront sin in my own life as sin and wrestle with it as I should, but I do not call my sin or the sin of other "good" or "acceptable" or "tolerable". I know that blessings follow those that follow His Word. Those blessings are far beyond the material blessings of the world's eyes, but there is no doubt that a Nation prospers when it follows God and is destroyed when it ceases. It is my sincere desire to serve with a Christ centeredness and greater dependence on the Church fullfiling the roles that big government repeatedly fails at, such as taking care of the needy, the orphan, widow, sick, fatherless, those in prison,,,

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Photo id is needed for most important matters and readily available. It should be required for voting.

What most closely matches your view on ballot measures? A) Ballot measures should be able to amend the constitution with few, if any, restrictions; B) Ballot measures should only be able to propose changes to laws when signatures are collected from people all across the state; C) The current process of allowing the Legislature to propose constitutional amendments will result in the best outcomes.

B) When our elected representatives fail, a specified ballot measure should be an option

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

No, reparations should not be given to people on the basis of race. In the history of mankind, even in the history of this nation, every race would be a candidate for reparations. Slavery was wrong, it did not begin here, it was not more prevalent here than many other parts of the world and periods of history, but it most certainly was ended here in the United States. Thank God.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism itself is not a threat to domestic security or we would have succumbed to it long ago. But those who seek to destroy, divide, and weaken our nation under the flag of racism or past racism, certainly do pose a threat.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) We must be good stewards of the environment and must have penalties for actions that cause physical harm or cause damage to the health of others but stricter environmental laws and regulation have proven to not be the solution.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Promote Good and Punish Evil.. Primary functions of Government are Law Enforcement, Military, Common Infrastructure across the State (Roads, Bridges, Water,,) But less than 25% of our budget goes to these areas.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I have proven to be among the most conservative on all the listed matters. At this point, it matters little what I say, but what I have done in office. My record of actions, although imperfect, are in the top 5% of those in office or those seeking re-election in the Mississippi State Legislature. Voting record and actions, align with campaign last election and platform has not changed.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I believe we covered most but they are welcome to call me. I'd love to visit in person at home, business, Church or any place convenient. In person meetings preferred but also available by phone. If email, please follow up with a phone call. Most of my emails are from out of district and out of state so they can be overlooked.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

The attack on protection of Law Enforcement Officers in taking action consistent with their duty is an attack on Law Enforcement in general. Ending qualified immunity would end individuals seeking the profession and service.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Taxpayer funds should not be redirected from police departments to mental health and community programs. Those matters need to be addressed but not in this manner.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. Law abiding citizens obey restrictions. We should have and enforce stiff penalties those that cause physical harm to others.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

It's not the gun, the ammo, or the manufacturer that causes violence against innocent. It's the person using the firearm for violent reasons. The focus and stiff penalties should be on the individual.
