QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Early delivery with all efforts to save the baby may sometimes be necessary to save the mother.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Strongly Agree

Socialism provides a robust foundation for a stable economy.

Strongly Disagree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Less taxes and regulation create the environment for jobs to be created. More stringent screening and limiting the time healthy working age individuals get government assistance should boost employment numbers. While unemployment is at historic lows, workforce participation rates are too low. Fair trade policy brings jobs back to the USA. Having a culture and government that promotes work, education, and self reliance instead of a culture of government dependency is essential. New employment opportunity outside the government sector should be the focus with emphasis on training for high paying skilled trade jobs that are currently unfilled in the state. We have too many college graduates with massive debt and no job prospects in their field. Counseling high school students in job opportunities and salary is necessary. MS has too many regulations and laws that discourage competition in the workplace. Working to eliminate government cronyism favoring certain sectors is crucial.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Reduce taxes and regulations. Government policy shouldn't protect select businesses from competition and shouldn't give unfair advantages to some over others. Enforce fair trade agreements that don't put the US at a disadvantage with countries that utilize sweat shop and child labor.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or business owners because of their deeply held religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not penalize those who define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Get government out of the healthcare market and allow true insurance competition across state lines. More pooling of small group employer health plans would bring down costs as well. Getting rid of Certificate of need laws and having providers compete for services instead of protecting the status quo is part of the fee market solution. Adding healthy adults to the Medicaid rolls is not the answer. Obamacare is what drove up insurance rates and deductibles with federal subsidies and mandates. We have to get rates and deductibles back down through a free market approach. Mississippi's high risk pool was a better approach than federalizing healthcare. The truly disabled, elderly, and children shouldn't compete with healthy adults for Medicaid. Undue Regulations drive up costs. Other countries shouldn't be able to buy the same drugs for less cost. Congress has to stop catering to pharmaceutical interests to get our drug costs down. Auditing programs for fraud is essential as well.

NATIONAL SECURITY

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.

Strongly Disagree

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Biblical values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Strongly Disagree

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Free speech is under attack on public university and college campuses.

Strongly Agree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The knowlege that unchecked power can bring out the sinful nature in human kind and lead to tyranny was what led our founders to form a constitutional republic.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the word of God in the Bible as the ultimate truth for solving life's earthly problems. It is a roadmap for a successful moral society. I'm a born again a Christian who believes in God as creator who gave his son Jesus as a sacrifice for our eternal salvation. I believe that we cannot separate God's word from the foundation and preservation of this nation if we are seeking for prosperity in our nation to prevail over self inflicted destruction.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Angela Burks Hill Facebook page, Voting record in the MS Senate, @Angelabhill1 on twitter. Various archived radio shows from Supertalk and WRJW Picayune. I was lead author of the Convention of States Resolution that passed this March. I was the leader in the MS legislature fighting against the Common Core federal education package and the current state supt. of education Dr. Wright. I protected property rights in authoring and passing the landlord tenant bill this year. I authored and passed a cursive writing bill so that students won't be permanently detached from their written heritage and founding documents. I've gotten bills passed that should put fit family members in the front of the line in getting their relatives out of the foster care system. I've worked on transparency issues and gun rights legislation. I was the lead author of the heart beat bill that was adopted this session.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am a former science teacher and high school valedictorian. Life experiences dealing with major family illness gave me experience in healthcare, insurance, and education issues and prepared me to be a leader not a follower. Working in the private sector for years gave me insight on employment and tax issues businesses deal with. Knowing education policy and terminology has been very helpful. Working hard, raising two successful children, being happily married for 37 years, balancing a checkbook each month, and filing my tax returns make for a common sense approach to public office. My belief that MS can have a better economy and remain a decent place to raise children motivates me to do this job.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am an educated wife, mother, and grandmother. I'm concerned about the future of my state and my country. I believe God has prepared me to be in this position, or I would not seek the office. My work is not finished. Please remember to pray for our leaders to be bold and hold strong to Biblical teachings in their respective positions. I'll stand up for you.
