What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means the the federal or state government cannot usurp the rights of their citizens by declaring or favoring one religion over another, as it is detrimental to religious liberty. Freedom of Religion does NOT mean an assertive secularization of our community schools and institutions.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
My promoting the same free market forces, the promotion of which allows for lower costs and higher quality in all other industry sectors; healthcare and insurance should be no exception. Certificate of Need laws are a primary target as the bureaucratic regulatory regime arbitrarily restricts the proliferation of healthcare options for consumers, and thus helps to further inflate prices in healthcare. Transparency in pricing so that consumers can better shape healthcare decisions in favor of efficacy and economics. Allowing for wider coverage options under state law so consumers can shop for healthcare plans that are ideal to their unique situation.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Individuals with their affairs in order, free of criminal history or connections, and who are determined to be beneficial to the spirit, culture,a end economy of the United States. Legal immigration is welcome, and vital,in most instances. Some of the most patriotic Americans among us are those immigrants that know from experience what a blessing liberty is. Yet for we Americans to actually 'secure these blessings of liberty' we must first secure our ability to effectively enforce immigration laws, at our borders and within each and every state.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised on moral absolutes, as laid down by God and codified by our nation's founders. That each and every individual is endowed with unalienable rights, to their life, their liberty, and their property, in accordance Judeo-Christian principles and the laws of nature. You treat people how you want to be treated, remain humble, and always strive to reach the potential God has given you by acknowledging and embracing the truths God gave us the tools to discover. This notion is central to my life, and inspires my drive to contribute toward a more perfect realization of these truths. I believe each person has their own unique relationship with God or spirituality, but the it is necessary that it always be theirs to choose and practice. The tenets of religious freedom laid the foundation for this country's creation; threats to religious liberty mark critical threats to the very essence of the American idea and must be fought mightily.

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My positions on myriad and relevant issues is publicly available at FirstinFreedomDaily.com where I have contributed countless insights into my perspective on topics such as limited government, religious liberty, the Second Amendment, lower taxes and spending, cultural issues, and the general struggle to secure pour blessing of liberty as outlined in our U.S. Constitution.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
In addition to being a student of history and economics, I graduated with a BA in Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill. I immediately thereafter began expanding my knowledge and experience as an equity trader through out the Great Financial Crisis, before committing myself to principled politics during the 2012 NCGOP GOTV efforts. I knocked on over 20,000 doors to promote the candidates up and down the ballot and, most importantly, the principles I hold dear. I have served the people of North Carolina as part of the McCrory administration, helping to craft strategic jobs plans and more effectively promote workforce development/education synergies across the state; serve as a senior political risk analyst offering insights to business leaders and international audiences on the intersection between politics and markets; and, committed myself professionally to further advance conservative liberty principles that underpin our nation's and our state's founding.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm genuinely committed to doing my part in maximizing the liberty of the citizens of southern Wake County and all of North Carolina. I'm a father of two young girls, husband to a remarkable woman and mother, and the love of my family is the greatest blessing in life. I've always been fascinated with the human condition, our nation's founding principles, the sanctity of individual rights and the incredible achievements, prosperity and quality of life that come from honoring these. I invested in this passion through my education, both formally and informally; armed it with experience in capital markets, politics, government, media; and, feel a sense of duty in leading us toward an ever more perfect expression of the ideals declared in our founding documents. I fight for advancing conservative liberty principles that allow for individuals, families, and businesses to thrive under this framework. Fatherhood has taught me this sense of duty is one born of love, the greatest thing.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
'Shall not be infringed' was written in our Second Amendment for a reason. Measures should be in place to restrict the possession of firearms by violent criminals and those suffering from severe mental illness that makes them a violent risk to others. All other law abiding citizens have the inherent right to bear arms.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Gun Rights, affirming and honoring the Second Amendment, as written, as a state. All 10 amendments deserve our renewed commitment in law and practice. These threats are most pressing. Taxes/Regulation, further lighten the burden on taxpayers and businesses. We only truly prosper when the government takes less of our property and has less arbitrary control of what we do with it. This is the most extensive way in which we interact with government. Immigration enforcement. End Sanctuary Policies.
