OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Abortions should be paid for by those seeking them, or by those who voluntarily choose to help pay for them.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Neutral

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

When the woman believes it is her best option

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

No.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

Reform entitlements and the military in order to reduce spending. Use the savings to reduce Federal taxes and begin paying down the debt.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Government should stay out of religion and religion should stay out of government.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

The narrow exception would be if, in an emergency situation, the service would save the life of a person.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

If there is actual evidence that vaccination can prevent transmission of a highly contagious disease and federal and/or state legislatures declare a temporary state of emergency.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

We should transition Medicaid and Medicare to private insurance for large and unexpected medical services. Routine services should be paid out-of-pocket directly to healthcare providers. This would reduce premiums, encourage price transparency to the patient, and reduce costs thought choice and competition.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, because it is the closest government to a liberal democracy in the Middle East. But we should also end military aid to ALL countries in the Middle East. It is up to Israel and other middle eastern countries together to resolve the Palestinian issue and counter Iran.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Wars of choice, rather than necessity. Using the National Guard abroad, which should be ended by passing the Defend the Guard Act.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Disagree

Border insecurity is the direct result of a broken legal immigration system.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who's identity is verified, that they are not a criminal or terrorist, and have a way to support themselves (able to work or have others to help them). They should receive permanent residency so they can work and have a path to citizenship in a reasonable timeframe.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

If taxpayer dollars are to be used for education, the money should go directly to the student (or parents of a minor child).

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

These decisions should be left to the parents, unless there is actual evidence to support that the parents' decision are causing harm to the child.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Secular humanist.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

But the "winner-take-all" allocation of electoral votes in 48 states should be replaced by the system used in Maine and Nebraska. This would bring the electoral and popular vote in close alignment, while still recognizing that states matter in our Federal system. And this would not require a constitutional amendment.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

However, U.S. institutions, laws, and regulations often work to the detriment of the politically powerless and those of limited economic means.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

For government-run spaces. Private organizations should decide for themselves, based on what they feel is in the best interest of the organization.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Neutral

It is a global threat that requires technological and business solutions to adapt, mitigate and begin reversing the effects of climate change.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

I am a Libertarian, but this one-dimensional left-right model has no place for a fiscally responsible, socially inclusive candidate. Authoritarian populists on the left and right share a common goal--use the government to force their values and policies on everyone. Libertarians want individuals to control their personal and economic decisions to the fullest extent possible.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Per our Declaration of Independence, the purpose of government is to secure our natural rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. Other issues and needs are best addressed by voluntary action by individuals and other organizations.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Disagree

Changing the number of seats is not reform.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Neutral

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Those which pass strict scrutiny: 1) a compelling government interest, 2) actual evidence that the proposed restriction will achieve its stated purpose, 3) that it is tailored as narrowly as possible so as to not infringe on the rights of law-abiding people.
