George Washington's comment that “Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society” is still true today.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only in case of extreme danger to mother if pregnancy is continued. Doctor and patient joint decision.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

No answer.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Lutheran but am not an active member of any church. I still try to follow most Lutheran teachings.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am very conservative when it involves financial issues. I believe in free markets. They are not the answer for everyone but offer the greatest opportunity to the largest number of people. I am somewhat more liberal on certain social issues such as legalizing drugs.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Reduce government spending, lower taxes and leave more dollars in the hands of the consumer.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

There is no one fix all solution. The free market will allow creative solutions to parts of this problem all the time if the government would allow them to develop. Consumer choice, supply and demand, and personal responsibility all must play a part in any solution. Government solutions seldom include even one of these principles.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Keep government involvement and influence, whether by rule, regulation, tax, or any other method, as limited as possible. Again, let the market work.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Lifelong resident and longtime farmer. Board member and officer of a small local co-op for 9 years. Long time member of Town of Waukechon planning and zoning committee. Graduate of Leadership Shawano County program class of 2017.
