Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When the decision is reached between the pregnant woman and her doctor, with the participation of the father if appropriate. Note to #23. I voted in the 2014 and 2016 WV Mountain Party Primaries
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Obey Matthew 22:35-40. As the Lord said " All else is commentary."
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Thaqt all men are created in the image of God, endowed by their Creator with certai inalienable rights that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They had this desire "to form a more perfect union," and did "establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to (themselves) and (their) posterity." As the Lord said all else is commentary.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I cannot summarize my beliefs in such a small space. I shall discuss them with you in an appropriate venue. I am a Christian, of the Presbyterian Faith.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Liberal
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
There is not space or time for this. I would that you have added the space at the end of each question for amplification. Based upoon your "survey," I am confident I can defeat any of you in an affirmative-negative debate on these issues.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would expand Medicare to cover all Americans, with a funding mechanism. I would bring Medicaid, SNAP, CHIPs, Senior Services, adequate nutrition, prescription compounds, family leave, sick leave, etc under the the MEDICARE umbrella. I would not raise taxes upon working wages, Social security, or small businesses. The program would be modelled after the VA, without the present bottlenecks.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Pursuing sound fiscal policy that assures a minimum living standard for all Americans. The 7 to 1 multiplier affecting this, my National health care program, my infrastructure improvement program and my guaranteed annual income will do this.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
I would repeal the TAX CUTS & JOBS ACT of 2017 before it causes deficits in excess of $1,000,000,000,000 per year for the forseeable future. I would offer a 25% "amnesty" to corporations which bring the money they have in foreign accounts and operations. This "amnesty" expires after one year. After that, they would pay a 40% penalty, and face economic sanctions.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
It is unlikely this can be done. You must not believe the current administration's position that this is the greatest economy in the history of the nation." Technology/new processes, etc. will soon render unskilled and semi skilled worker unemployable. Right now West Virginia has 45% of the population not working for all reasons. This will pass to other states as well, and soon. A guarranteed national income, instead of a $15 per hour minimum wage will address this issue.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Keeping the system as it is constructed now, but enacting my National Health care (Medicare expansion) with the mechanism to pay for it.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Mt education, life experiences, abilities to communicate, willingness to interact with ALL CONSTITUENTS, my ability to work "across the aislews." and my understanding of howe the economy works for the majority of Americans, and not the privileged few. I've been there; I've lived it. I come from a farm background.
