OTHER INFORMATION
QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Given the advances of medical science, I can not think of a medical reason that an abortion should be performed. I do not support the notion that an illegal act (rape or incest) somehow confers a legal right (abortion) - it is still the killing of an innocent child despite its horrific conception. It is possible I could understand a medical need if clearly presented that the life of both the mother and child are endangered (example might be the age and size of the mother) but not having the medical expertise I can't say that can't be overcome through the advances of medical science.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The state constitution should limit the growth of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.
Neutral
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Get the government out of the process of the free-market and allow the market to function as the laws of economics will handle. This includes setting of minimum wages and drastic reduction of regulations.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
First and foremost - dramatically reduce regulations, followed by lowering taxes, and reducing spending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
No Answer
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
We must recognize first that whenever there is a third-party payer that there is no incentives to lower the cost of health care. The question is obviously talking about insurance and we can't expect lower costs as long as we use the insurance model. We need to reduce, not increase, the reliance on insurance in order to fully know the true cost of health care. One need only see the "true bill" sent to insurance providers and the "agreed to payment" to understand that the true cost of health care is much lower.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Disagree
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Strongly Disagree
I support sanctuary cities.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Agree
Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.
Neutral
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
Disagree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
There was a strong belief in the natural laws that some defined as being from the creator. These are the rights of man to life, liberty, property and the defense of each - a three-legged stool held together by self-defense. The separate powers came through the recognition that a limited form of government would be necessary the betterment of individuals to protect those rights that are natural. The distinction of the branches limited the roles.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes in the Gospel clearly captured by something as simple as the Apostle's Creed. I believe in creation, the birth of the Son, His atoning death, His resurrection, and the assurance through faith that I will know His salvation.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
28 years of military service - enlisted in 1971; commissioned in 1976; left active duty in 1982 and retired from the US Army reserves in 1999 as a LTC. 26 years as a software / systems engineer Degrees: BA (Government), BS (Computer Science) MS (Systems Engineer) Mayor / council member of a small town They all contribute to a life long experience of seeing problems and getting to the root causes. Through these years of experience I have seen firsthand the ineptitude of government and we need a voice that recognizes that less just might be better.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Many ask why libertarian and it would be simple to respond why not? However, this is the one party that remains faithful to the Constitution and the principles of liberty that brought forth this nation. I have seen the two major parties devolve into basically two competing sides that continue to grow government, reduce liberties, and pass more laws that are either restrictive or compulsive. You might note I did not answer one question on marriage - although I agree that marriage is clearly defined as a man and a woman, my objection to the question was involvement of the government. Therein lies the problem with the issue - remove government from most of our activities and restore liberties would be the first step in restoring that which founded this nation and the various states. I call myself the pragmatic libertarian recognizing I can't expect everything to change at once, but I can be a voice moving in the direction of liberty and away from soft tyranny.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
