OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When the mother’s life is in jeapardy orviability of fetus is minimal. In regard to the abortion issue overall, I have struggled with this issue between Choice and the Non-Aggression Principle, and I finally, logically, must align as follows: In order to maintain complete Non-Aggression toward human beings, and because the ONLY specifically-definitive point in time at which one can clearly define that tissue changes to human, I must align with the Life Rights of the human fetus.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

The state constitution should limit the growth of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.

No Answer

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

No Answer

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Reduce undue regulation and get out of the market as much as possible. Businesses will require employees. Where there is a possibility to reward by reduction of tax burden, reward for skill and career change education, both for donations to education and training internally.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The Free Market should be regulated as little as possible. It tends to boost the economy just fine on its own. There are some (few) exceptions, and those exceptions need to be treated carefully and singly, so as not to unduly increase the permanent reach of government power.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

De-regulate every aspect of health care as much as possible. Government should not be in the health care industry at all, except as to examine that which is already illegal - fraud and harm.

NATIONAL SECURITY

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Neutral

Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.

Strongly Disagree

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

No Answer

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Humans, when given power, tend to build more power for themselves. Governmental power, by nature, is a usurping power - it takes from others to maintain its own. At its very BEST, governmental power is a necessary evil, one that we allow to adjudicate disputes and maintain some small coherence as agreed upon. Our Founders divided those powers in ways that purposefully slowed that march to tyranny as best as possible.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised Seventh-Day Adventist, and while I no longer adhere strictly to that belief structure, it formed a moral and spiritual framework that helped shape my morality and cosmology. I believe in God, in the principle of a Savior, and in the infinite possibilities of a Humanity linked with the Divine. I believe that much of the biblical moral code can be shown to be either smart thinking for human behavior, or smart thinking specifically for the people to whom it was given. Examples: Forbidding murder is good for social and societal interactions. Smart. Always. Swine flu epidemic in biblical times yielded a health law that forbade that meat. Local, timely, smart.

ABOUT YOU

I support using a party caucus to nominate my party's candidate for Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, and I pledge to vote for my party's nominee.

No Answer

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2010 General Election, 2012 General Election, 2012 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I consider myself a Conservatarian - I Conservative Leaning Libertarian. That means that when there is a question of Liberty and Principle, I tend to side with my personal Conservative Convictions. As often as possible, however, I must ask myself: "Is this the proper role of Government? Or is it the role of Society at large?" We create our society. It is the constant duty and obligation of every Citizen to strive to do so. Complacency in this regard will yield to those who are NOT complacent, and their agendas are very different than mine. To create a moral society requires a moral people. Government cannot create that moral society. But government can get out of the way of the Citizenry to do so. Insofar as is possible, the proper role of government should be interfere as little as possible in Society at large, and let us build it properly and morally.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am a United States Citizen who's lived in Texas for 16 years. I have upheld the principles of Liberty and Limited Government for my entire adult life.
