QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
No Answer
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am pro choice, and while I understand the perspective of my pro life friends, as a Libertarian I believe that this issue is a very personal decision between you, your family and God, and not one where we want our government intervening. As if we do, we will end up accepting government intervention in other issues that should be between you, your family, and God. There but for the Grace go I.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
No Answer
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government's only role in boosting the economy is ensure national defense, a fair and level playing field, and sound and stable monetary system.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
Simplify, simplify, simplify.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
It is not the government's job to bring down unemployment, nor is it capable of doing so in the long run.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
We are borrowing 20% of every dollar, and have failed to fund Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid to the tune of $22 Trillion in unfunded liabilities. That's on top of $21 Trillion in Federal Debt and liabilities. The combination is $340K/American family in human terms, 2x the American mortgage. We have to get our fiscal house in order, as well as fix the chronic over commit, underprice, and run up debts that we've done on Medicare and Social Security, before it's too late. We've known for decades this was coming, but our elected officials would rather put their head in the sand than take the political risk to fix the mess they made. But instead of fixing it, this year Congress passed tax cuts and spending increases that the Congressional Budget Office says will run up another $12 Trillion in Federal debt, more than the entire economy will grow, within 10 years.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Today doctors work for insurers; insurers for your boss; nobody works for you; so the system doesn’t work. We can fix this. We need a Million Payer system: health insurance not tied to your job with spiraling costs hidden by government intervention and a bad 1940s corporate tax deal. We want a world where you buy insurance directly, insurance is just insurance and doesn't pick your doctors, and usable anywhere not just in a private insurer network. Where doctors give you a good faith estimate before service, at a transparent and complete cost, with the same deal they give the insurance company. Unwind the 1940s corporate tax deal and give it to you, not your employer, open up the private networks. Address cost and choice, not restrict price and service.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Disagree
The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.
No Answer
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Strongly Disagree
I support sanctuary cities.
Strongly Disagree
The United States should protect its sovereignty from the United Nations.
No Answer
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
There are always security threats to be concerned with. I think today we have been eroding our ability to deal with threats after 17 years of constant overseas wars and a farflung network of military bases in 85 countries straining our treasury, our moral authority, our alliances, and taking the lives of our children, combined with mounting debts that beholden us to our domestic and foreign lenders. I believe in maintaining a strong defense and alliances. I do not believe in being the world policeman, and believe in the principle that power is greatest when it never has to be used.
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
No Answer
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
No Answer
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
We were meant for our elected Congress to govern, and to provide oversight of the executive branch, which executes the laws Congress passes. As a Senator it should be my job to make good laws for the President to enforce, and sit in oversight as he does. Congress today isn’t taking it’s oversight responsibility seriously, and by its partisanship and inaction is leaving to the courts and executive branch the problem of fixing our laws, which is rightfully it’s job, not theirs.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an active elder and Treasurer of Spring Branch Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas, a church my grandparents helped found, and where 3 generations of my family have grown up. I am active in a variety of church missions, including our Christian preschool. We each get to choose where to invest our time, I invest it in causes worth doing, and in my family, church, friends, and community.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
No Answer
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am a Libertarian. My values and principles cut across party lines. I am a small government, fiscal conservative, and believe the Federal government should not interfere into our lives on social issues.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I’m a 6th generation Texan, born and raised in Houston, educated in Texas at Texas A&M. I’ve personally founded 7 tech startups as well as nonprofits and other businesses, and held every executive role in a company. I’m not a long-time politician or career government employee like my competitors, and never intend to be. I don’t believe in a “career ladder” for politicians. At my companies, I work for shareholders, in office, I work for you. My track record speaks for itself. My Libertarian policies cut across party lines. I’m a fiscal conservative, small and local government, social liberal. If you stack ranked my policies against my competitors, most Texans will find that we have more common ground together. I am running as a Libertarian because my views, like Libertarians, cut across traditional party lines, and a new voice is needed. The role of 3rd parties in American politics for 200 years has bee

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I have 3 and 5 year old daughters. I am running for them, and your children and grandchildren. It is not ok for our elected officials to continue to kick the can down the road to them on Federal debts that now reach levels not seen since WWII, on healthcare that still remains tied to your job or your government with spiraling costs, on privacy, and immigration. It is not ok that they grow up never knowing a country not at war. They are just 3 and 5. They don’t understand what the Senate is yet. But they deserve that their parent’s generation leaves them a world better than it found it, without sending them the bill. Someone needed to stand up, and offer a better choice, with good, sound policies, a track record of delivering, and dedicated to looking out for every generation, not just their own. Politics, like life, is a participatory sport.

I support the death penalty.
