Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

That is a decision to be made by a woman and her doctor, it is not a decision to be made by government.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Bring the troops home.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The yearning for liberty and the desire to pursue happiness.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. No formal denomination.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a Libertarian. Although this necessarily makes me a liberal in terms of liberty and freedom, it does not make me a liberal in the two-party system. I believe a free man should be held responsible for the damage he does to others and their property. Other than that, he should not be molested. I believe it is the purpose of the federal government to secure the rights of the people against threats from foreign powers and from one state to another.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

If you want to provide healthcare, build hospitals and hire doctors. If you want to make your corporate sponsors rich, force everyone to buy their health insurance. I think the less government bureaucracy is involved in healthcare, the the cheaper it becomes.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

It should prosecute fraud and other criminal practices.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I propose to amend the 16th amendment to read; "The Federal government may only tax states," thus repealing all other federal taxes. I wish to take the burden of the federal government off of the citizen's back and place it solely on the shoulders of the governor. The governor has a lot more clout with the feds than the average citizen. The federal government is a creation of the states, they should be responsible for funding it.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Cut regulations, cut government costs. Restore the Free Market.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The Social Security System is a Ponzi scheme. I propose to sell foreign military bases to issue refunds (adjusted for inflation) to those who have already paid in. For those already dependent upon it, I would purchase private annuities. The worst nightmare is to have your retirement funds in the hands of a group of people who can change the rules about how much you have to pay, when you can receive benefits, and how much those benefits will be at their whim. Private Insurance Companies are not allowed to do that. We need to get the government out of the retirement business.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I've seen the government at work first-hand in the US Army, I have served on the Board of Adjustments, and am a Fellow of the NC Institute of Political Leadership. I have spent many years studying the history and government of the United States. As the Chairman of the Libertarian Party of North Carolina's Legal Action Committee, I oversaw the federal lawsuit, McCloughlin V Marsh, which resulted in two statutes being struck down as unconstitutional. For the past 40 years, I have worked as a political activist in the Democratic and Libertarian Parties to secure the rights of my fellow citizens.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

When I was a boy, I was taught the signposts on the road to tyranny: National IDs Gun Control Warrantless Searches Internal Checkpoints Wars of Aggression Massive Domestic Spying Denial of Due Process Asset Forfeiture Indefinite Detentions Torture Summary Execution Reading about WWII in high school, I often wondered how the Germans could possibly have allowed Hitler to lead them down that path that was so clearly marked for ruin and destruction of their nation. I told myself I would never allow that to happen here. I promised myself if I saw that happen in my country I would dig my heels in and resist. Then I watched in horror as the demopublicans began to enact each of these signposts. True to my word, thirty years ago I began to resist. I became politically active beyond merely voting.
