Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The Libertarian Party like most of America is divided on this issue. I give only my own personal opinion. I would remove the power to decide the circumstances permitting abortion from the Federal courts and return it to the States. Some, but not all, States will ban abortions while other States will allow abortions. I suspect that will remain the status until the anti-abortion States begin to lose mother, daughter, and sisters to back alley abortions, which was why first- and second-term abortions were legalized. It is not a perfect solution but one where the people in each state get to chose.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The founding fathers found mankind's nature to be the best and the worst of each individual. A person can be loving, kind, and generous as well as vengeful, impulsive, and greedy with a desire for power. Such is mankind. To safe guard the People's freedom they created a Republic of checks and balances. A separation of powers to offset the desire for power. A bicameral legislature to regulate, force debate, and limit impulsive decisions. A judicial branch for the vengeful.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My beliefs are private. I encourage anyone to find a spiritual adviser to assist them on their journey.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Libertarians are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I am very liberal on some issues and very conservative on others. Therefore I cannot answer your question.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Not sure why this question at this time. We have almost no unemployment at this time unless you are unable to work or choose not to work. The minimum wage is $11 dollars an hour, and many businesses are advertising starting wages at $12.50 an hour in order to get entry-level employees. We got that way as all economies do by limiting government involvement and freeing the individual to create. Will we have a downturn in the economy? Yes of course we will as the economy is cyclical. But more government involvement will only make recovery longer.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Cooperatives in healthcare have a long history of providing the best coverage at the lowest cost. In fact where Cooperatives are strong healthcare cost go down. All government healthcare systems fail when they run out of other peoples' money. I support a state-wide healthcare Cooperative to cover everyone if they choose to join. The cost will start at an average about $800 a month. As costs come down and we cover all future members with a million dollar healthcare policy the monthly cost in a few years will come down to $500 a month.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Make sure we have a level playing field. History has shown us that government involvement is the quickest way to tank an economy. Getting government out of the way and allowing the invisible hand to work, or harnessing the power of the individual always works in creating a great economy.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have a law degree, been a military officer, and have run my own business. I was on the Economic Development Committee of Golden and saw the town become a tourist destination. I am well aware that whoever wins will need on-the-job training. Unless one served as a governor in another state we all will have a learning curve.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

What you should know about me is that I believe that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you hold your nose and vote for the lessor of two evils, as I did, between the Republic and Democrat Parties and hope for the best that is insane. It allows extremest minorities to control the parties and the State. A vote for me is a vote for change! It will change the two major parties as they both want power and will be force to adapt. It will change to political debate in this county and give voice to the voiceless. It will give rise to a third party who is both socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Vote for change, vote for a new voice to the voiceless and the end of business as usual. Like an avalanche the change will begin slowly but once started nothing can stop it! Stop holding your nose and expecting different results. A vote for Scott Helker, is a vote for change
