QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
As a Libertarian, I believe that the government has no place in deciding what a woman does with her own body. That being said, I also understand that our scientific knowledge concerning conception, life and viability has advanced greatly since Roe v. Wade was decided, and believe that the child developing within is a Human Being, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among them LIFE, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. However, when the health of the mother is at extreme risk, and premature labor or surgery will not save the child, saving one life is still better than losing two.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Privatize. Allow individuals to place their SS contributions into legitimate investment portfolios (annuity contracts, long-term interest-bearing accounts, etc). This way, when they decide to retire, the funds will be available, rather than praying that the SSA doesn't go insolvent through poor management and wasteful actions, thus losing all the earnings that they have been forced to hand over all their lives.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All of it. I've worked for the federal government in two completely different departments. The waste, mismanagement, and downright stupidity is everywhere. The budget needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb to eradicate policies, practices, and programs that are simply not vital to the health of the country.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. A loan is a contract, and the government's sole purpose in contract areas is to uphold them, not interfere with them. Besides, I paid for my college education, I was responsible and kept my expenses down, worked my way through school, and paid off what little I did borrow. Why should I, or anyone else, be on the hook for another's poor decisions?
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Disagree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Government can't tell you what religious beliefs and practices you may have (as long as those practices do not cause harm to other human beings). Of course, that also means the Government can't tell you what beliefs and practices you may NOT have. I honestly believe the whole "no prayer in school" mandate is unconstitutional. If students want to pray in school, the government has no authority to stop them.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I certainly wouldn't load the healthcare system with a lot of Federal regulations and mandates that creates an ever expanding bureaucracy, and drives up health care costs. Insurance providers should be free to create whatever plans they wish, and consumers should be free to decide which, if any, of those plans meet their needs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Neutral
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Stop getting involved in the internal politics of other countries. WE created the extremists by trying to use their homelands as a political chessboard.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Neutral
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Neutral
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Neutral
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Everyone who would like to come here with the intention of working hard, and becoming good citizens. This does not include violent criminals, or persons who have expressed an interest to harm Americans or our Government.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I do believe in a creator. Other than that, I prefer not to disclose my personal religious beliefs.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
www.nadinefrostforussenate.com Or, someone could watch hundreds of hours of Wilmington City Council meetings dating back to 2012, where I regularly spoke as a community member on a wide range of issues and legislation.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm probably not particularly likeable, because I refuse to shmooze and pander to get votes. I am who I am, and that's all that I am. I do, however, love my country, and would like to leave it a better place for my grandchildren (I have 2).
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I wouldn't approve of violent criminals (serial killers/rapists, mass murderers, etc) owning firearms, but I see no reason to assume that everyone who wishes to own a firearm is a dangerous criminal, and should be treated as such prior to purchase.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Agree
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Reorganization of Congress, to reduce the outsized influence of special interests over the needs of the general population. Reduction of the Federal bureaucracy/budget/debt. Reorganization and/or removal of the Federal Department of Education. There can be no issue more local than the education of one's own children, and it does not belong in the hands of DC bureaucrats.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Threats to domestic security is a threat to domestic security. What rationale that is used to "legitimize" domestic terrorism isn't as important as the people who would use violence to achieve whatever ends they may have in mind.
