QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Starting at the moment of conception a human individual has their own unique DNA and only needs time, shelter and sustenance - the same things you or I need today - to live out their natural lifecycle. We must bring the laws protecting life up to date with what we've learned about DNA and human development since 1973.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I know of no circumstance when doctors should not try to save the lives of both the mother and child. The incredibly rare occurrence of ectopic pregnancy may necessitate removing the child from pregnancy prior to viability, yet even then we should try to save the child's life.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Any definition of a living human individual which dehumanizes them is entirely subjective and puts every individual in danger of somehow being arbitrarily defined as less than human.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
A living human individual is a living human individual. Fertility therapies should strive to preserve the lives of all individuals conceived in vitro and implant all of them in a mother's womb. This may raise the cost of the therapies but there is no other way to protect individual's lives.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
There should be no minimum wage, any level of minimum wage favors currently more productive individuals over currently less productive ones, effectively barring entry to the career ladder for vulnerable communities and teens.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. End all state and legislative committees and public-private partnerships 2. Full third party forensic audits of every dollar spent by government agencies and programs 3. Enforce and encourage right to work for all public employees 4. While honoring our current commitments, begin to enforce the constitutional principle of general Welfare over special welfare.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The phrase "separation of church and state" comes from a letter by Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists who were concerned the Presbyterian Church was going to become the U.S. religious denomination like the English Anglican Church or Spanish Catholic Church. The phrase does not appear in the Constitution. The Supreme Court has since found Secular Humanism explicitly - and thereby Atheism implicitly - to be religion, so current separation doctrine is actually state religion in violation of the 1st.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
There is already fault law in place to address failure to rescue someone in an emergency. Services are a product of an individual's labor which is entirely owned by the individual, there is no duty to provide a service to others absent a true emergency.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain as a last resort to keep people from dying in the streets, but government is a terrible charity and if any private charity had the same overhead as government, the government itself would put the leaders of the charity in prison. There should also be standard up-front pricing for all medical care and procedures, and cross state competition for medical care and insurance.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
The moment you become the government's responsibility in terms of providing medical care, your life becomes a liability.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, Israel is the only constitutional democracy in the Middle East, Arabs have more individual rights there than any Arab or Muslim country. The "territories" have been part of Israel since the 1967 Six Day War. Israel has allowed them to function autonomously but now are wisely exerting law & order over them. Calling the areas "territories" would be like calling Florida "The Florida Strip", New England the "French and Indian Heights", and everything West of the Mississippi "The West Bank".
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Reagan said it best in his 1964 "The Speech", if America loses its national character then other people around the world seeking freedom will have no place to go. Criminal (illegal) migration is bad for everyone, including migrants. Many migrants live in enclaves entirely surrounded by people from their own countries, often controlled by gangs or criminal organizations. Immigration should always be legal, individual and have the goal of assimilation into American culture.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Jefferson wisely wrote in his Statute for Religious Freedom - which is still on the books as law in the State of Virginia - that, "to compel a [person] to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which [they] disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." There is no way to educate a child without imparting a worldview, so to the greatest extent possible education should be decided directly by a child's parents, not government.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
For the sixteen hours per day when a child is at home their health and wellbeing is the direct and sole responsibility of their parents. For the eight hours per day a child is on public school grounds, their health and wellbeing is the direct and sole responsibility of their parents. I support full disclosure of all educational materials to all parents, and zero medical care or counseling apart from the direct approval and presence of a parent.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Furthermore if an adult counsels or encourages any behavior to a child, then the adult should be treated legally as if they had participated in the behavior with the child. Encouraging child sexuality in any way is immoral and should be illegal. Anyone who encourages sexual behavior on the part of a child, whether a curricula author, administrator or teacher, should be held legally liable for doing so.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
It is telling that in WA SB 6239-2012, in pretending to redefine marriage, the bill had to use the terms "marriage" and "marital" in the sense everyone understands and knows them in order to pretend to redefine them. "Sec. 13...the terms spouse, marriage, marital, husband...shall be interpreted as applying equally to state registered domestic partnerships or individuals in state registered domestic partnerships as well as to marital relationships and married persons..."
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an evangelical Christian.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Your vote should be as secure as your pocketbook. Photo ID should be non-negotiable when voting, and apart from proven hardship like military service voting should always be in person at one's own local precinct.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
For much of human history CO2 was as low as 250 or 230 ppm. At 180 ppm there is so little CO2 there is a mass die-off of plants. For most of the planet's history we know the levels have been much higher, and temperature has never followed CO2, CO2 has always lagged by about 800 years. The "hockey stick" was a product of unscientific computer models using adjusted data, it does not exist. Meanwhile, at a still very low 440 ppm the earth is greening. Carbon is necessary for human flourishing.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
The safest, most efficient source of energy in human history is nuclear.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of punishment for crime should be restorative justice, compensating victims for the impacts of crime done against them. This extends all the way to capital punishment. Restorative justice would do much more to rehabilitate criminals than our current incarceration system, it would in many cases require criminals to work for and with victims to pay the literal penalties of their crimes.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
The same laws which govern conduct in person should ultimately govern conduct electronically.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
Sharia "law" is inherently religious doctrine, and often violates Western law in terms of individual rights and fault.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to bear arms is inviolable in the U.S. Constitution and may only be abrogated in cases of direct imminent danger, which may include having been found guilty in a court of law in the past for crimes such as violent assault.
