Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am Pro-Life. I am also a Military Sexual Assault Survivor, even though it didn't result in a pregnancy, I understand the issue more than most and I am very caring and sensitive to girls and women in those incidents of rape and sexual assault. My position will always be the Creator has given us life and to have that life more abundantly.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

"The Divine Gift of Reason". To discover the "balanced center" between the two extremes of anarchy and tyranny. They recognized that under the chaotic confusion of anarchy there is "no law," whereas at the other extreme the law is totally dominated by the ruling power and is therefore "Ruler's Law." What they wanted to establish was a system of "People's Law," where the government is kept under the control of the people and political power is maintained at the "balanced center".

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe in the finished works of Jesus Christ and that we are under God's Grace. I believe that we should be disciples of Christ to spread His Gospel of Grace and to be His witnesses throughout the world. I care about supporting public policy for a vibrant economy so our families can have jobs that produce livable wages. I believe small businesses are the "economy engine" of our economy. I believe it is unfair when taxes continue to increase where citizens are NOT able to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe that all honorable discharged veterans should have the right to access benefits they have earned while serving our country. I believe political power should be maintained at the "balanced center" with enough government to maintain security, justice and good order, but not enough government to abuse the people.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

These are my personal views as a citizen of the United States. To my knowledge, this is the first time I am being requested to validate my answer on my views on some of the widest and dense issues facing our government. I was born and raised in South Carolina and I believe we have a banner of conservatism. As it relates to foreign policy and immigration, those policies are addressed at the Congressional level. Once I am elected to the Legislature, the public will be able to track and rate my voting record on the health of the economy in Washington State.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

"Of course, the real question at hand is how to improve the lot of those who have been out of work for over six months". One opinion is suggests that "the debate over jobless benefits is a distraction from what is really needed: ways to help these people rebuild job skills and start working again, as opposed to simply providing income support". I would support public policy that would explore all of the factors and solutions that could best get at bringing down the unemployment rate. What we do know is, that when the economy is good, people are working.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

"Though the Washington Exchange has been touted as one of the Obamacare successes, it will be a hard sell given much of the consumer experience and frustration around assuring money gets to carriers and the consumers actually have coverage. There are a plethora of complaints from people who wrote checks, sent them to the Exchange, but the money never got to the insurance companies. This of course causes a problem when the patient shows up for an appointment and then is told they aren’t covered for lack of payment." I don't have the answer nor do my opponent on promoting adequate, affordable and accessible healthcare coverage for all. This is about simple economics: Supply and Demand. To provide adequate, affordable and accessible for all begs the question: What are we willing to pay to ensure adequate, affordable and accessible healthcare coverage for all? At the end of the day, someone will have to pay the "piper".

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

"The Founders knew that borrowing can be an honorable procedure in a time of crisis, but they deplored it just the same. They looked upon it as a temporary handicap which should be alleviated at the earliest possible moment. The Founders knew that dire circumstances, such as war or other emergency, could force a nation to borrow, so they authorized the federal government to do so in Article I of the Constitution. Nevertheless, they considered it a matter of supreme importance for the survival of a free people to get out of debt and enjoy complete solvency in order to prosper. "I, however, place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared," (Bergy, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 15:47.)
