Your body, your rules. The government should not interfere with reproductive rights any more than it should interfere with your right to worship. However, states should regulate the last trimester once the pregnancy has advanced to the point the fetus capable of living unaided outside the womb and the mother is capable of normal delivery. States need to do much more to hold the father of the child to the same accountability as they hold the mother. States should place mothers who request it on free prenatal care under the best healthcare insurance the state offers, not the least. States should become responsible for child support. The mother should not have to sue to receive it, as is the case in many states. I support state DNA testing of the father if this is in question. A minimal child support of $500 per month should be set for the noncustodial parent. If the non-custodial parent is a minor, the parents would become responsible. I support 1 year parental leave.

For 40 years, the federal government cut taxes on the wealthy, diverted $21 Trillion form the U.S. economy, and drove the country into $21 Trillion in debt. American workers have saved up some $21 Trillion in retirement during this period. I would raise taxes on the richest 10% of Americans rather than reduce the retirement benefits of the Americans who have already worked for and earned them. The taxpayers own the government. Privatizing government gives that ownership over to the greedy.

Your body, your rules. Churches should not endorse political campaigns, receive government money from taxpayers, and yet not pay taxes. Churches are right to espouse values consistent with their belief system. The first Americans were fleeing religious persecution, not because they were bad people, but simply disagreeing with someone who wanted to do your thinking for you was a punishable offense back then. Separation of church and state means we do not want to go back to that situation. Churches around the world share some 55+ common beliefs that strengthen families, communities, and nations. We should embrace these beliefs. However, if some Americans choose to opt out of these beliefs, and are not doing so to become a malicious threat to others safety, they should be allowed to live their own lives without retribution or punishment. If God calls those he wants to his flock, the faithful should not look down on those who from a religious perspective have not received their calling yet

Anyone who can contribute to our society and wants to live here should be allowed to immigrate here. Immigration has always made us stronger as a nation. Congress has known immigration requires reform for decades and has done nothing to correct the problem they have created. I agree we need secure borders. I do not see how separating families, locking kids in cages, and selling kids into foster homes without their parent's consent is making our country any safer or our borders more secure. Congress created this problem. Congress needs to fix it. I would rather live next to a foreign born family who walked a 1,000 miles to live here than someone born here wearing a Klu Klux Klan robe. People who have served their guest country in the United States military and were not even citizens should not be deported after their honorable discharge under any circumstances. They have earned the right to be here. That right has nothing to do with the color of their skin or their religion.

My family has multiple belief systems. I chose to become Catholic, and am very supportive of the Jesuit Order and of Byzantine Catholics who I have worshiped with. I also have worshiped with Episcopalians and Lutherans I am also quite fond of. We are all God's children, and one team isn't any better or worse or closer to God than any other team in my opinion. My belief system is my choice. Your belief system is your choice. One belief system should not expect to regulate a different belief system. This is what is meant by the separation of church and state in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This is what freedom means. I do not view those who choose not to attend a church as lesser human beings than those who do. We are all God's children. Peace be with you.

People should not let other people do their thinking for them, and that is what both conservative and liberal labels have become. I was raised that conservative meant freedom from debt, because when you owe someone money, that part of your life is no longer your own. I was raised that liberal meant your family and your neighbors should have sufficient food, clothing, shelter, education, and medicine regardless of the social, economic, or political circumstances they were born into. No one gets to choose their parents. From my view both conservatives and liberals have equal value in these terms, and whether or not you decide to agree with either the predominant conservative view or the predominant liberal view should depend on the issue you are looking at, the facts, and your personal experience. You should be trying to help as many people as possible, and trying to hurt as few as many people as possible regardless if you consider yourself a conservative or a liberal.

I have extensive education and experience in business management (20 years) and education (8 years), the largest budget item at the state level. I worked for the 5th largest corporation on Earth for 20 years. I do not believe profit is bad. I do not believe corporations are bad. I do believe greed infects the spirit of the weak in mind and body, and government regulations must protect the vulnerable populations from arrogant and violent abuse of wealth. I believe in servant leadership as taught by the Unites States military, the largest humanitarian organization on Earth, which promotes the higher station in life you attain, the more people you are responsible to take care of. The Bible also speaks of the higher station in life you attain, the more humility you should acquire.

My view is guns do not kill people, people kill people. Drug abuse, mental health, and unemployment all increase the risk of gun violence. I believe everyone who purchases a firearm should have to qualify with an NRA trained firearm instructor before they can take it home. I believe if mass shootings continue, we should suspend sales of assault weapons except to honorably discharged veterans who are trained to use them by establishing such a code on the DD-214 form for military approval first.
