QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
It is contrary to the 6th Commandment, "Thou shall not kill."
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only to save the mother's life.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
One of three principles of our Founding Fathers: "The fruits of our labor belongs to us." One of the goals of socialism is the re-distribution of wealth. America is not a socialist nation. I believe we must restore our industrial might. Because for every American manufacturing job created, one each American job is created in service, distribution, and marketing. America's greatest gift to the world was the establishment of the middle class.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
We must reduce the national debt before the pied piper comes calling. Thomas Jefferson said: "To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt....I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple."
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I support a 10% flat rate income tax.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Thank God for SCOTUS and Mr. Joe Kennedy, football coach, Bremerton (Washington) High School. All that courageous man (a U.S. Marine of 20 years service to his country) asked for was to be left alone, to pray in silence, at the 50-yard line, on public property, after the football game was over.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Separate but accommodating. Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. It has worked very well for over two centuries. John Adams said: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. A second principle of our Founders: "We are citizens, not subjects."
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. I support installing more free-market healthcare features in Medicare and Medicaid.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
D. We have spent trillions of dollars on building and defending other countries yet have absolutely nothing to show for it. Today, America has 23,000 unsafe dams, and 45,000 bridges deemed "structurally deficient. Let's take care of America first and foremost.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The goal of the CCP is to be the dominant nation in the world by 2049, the 100th anniversary of Mao's revolution. We need to stop them now while we still can by cutting all ties with the CCP.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Arm Israel to the teeth.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Complete the wall that Trump started. No more catch and release. No amnesty for illegal aliens.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I support merit immigration policies, not chain migration where one person brings other family members. Immigrants allowed to enter the U.S. must be able to speak and write English, have clean background checks, and have marketable technical work skills that will help America. They do not get welfare.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
It is covered in the 14th Amendment.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
It's a dumb theory, not factually based. It must not be taught in schools. Did you know that American kids scored 38th in math, below Portugal?
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Raised Catholic.I am Pro-God. I am Pro-life. I believe life begins at conception. I believe in keeping our American traditions. I believe that the Constitution must be adhered to as it is written, just like the Bible.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Mail in ballots by request only. The Dominion Voting Systems must be replaced; they are not secure. State legislatures must be the only entities to be allowed to certify federal elections.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No one has yet been able to show me examples of racism that stops any U.S. citizen from achieving the American Dream. They can't because it does not exist. Domestic security is threatened when the rule of law is not enforced.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have written a number of Letters to the Editor that have been published in The Spokesman-Review. See July 7, 2018 Saturday edition.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My priorities: (1) Address the worse inflation in 40 years via energy independence and reducing government spending. (2) Make our schools as safe as our court houses. The next school shooter is already out there. Our kids are sitting ducks. Israel has had only two (2) school shootings in over 44 years. They have full-time armed security at each school. How come Israel gets it but we don't? I also support arming teachers as another layer of protection for our kids.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I support stop and frisk in high crime areas. Poverty does NOT cause crime. Crime causes poverty.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. SCOTUS has made that loud and clear. There are over 20,000 gun control laws on the books. How many more do we need? These laws only affect and restrict law abiding citizens. Criminals don't abide by the law. Criminals criminalize.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
It not the guns that kill people. It is the people. The leading cause of deaths of children under the age of 17 are cars. Yet, we do not preclude kids from riding in cars nor do we sue car manufacturers unless there are defects in the cars themselves.
