QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I have comforted several friends through the aftermath abortion & don't like it in any circumstances. That is why I was proud to chair the Speaker's Task Force on Adoption this past legislative session.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

The state constitution should limit the growth of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.

Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Agree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

This is a complex question that requires an equally complex answer, beyond what can be answered here. Nevertheless, I believe that the best way to bring down unemployment is multipronged. First, I think we need better outcomes in our schools so that kids have adequate competency in reading, math, science, and technology. Second, I think we need to do a better job of connecting students to employment through things like the youth apprentice program, which I was fortunate to expand through my legislation this past session. Finally, I think we need to provide adequate support to the unemployed while stopping short of making it more worthwhile to be unemployed than working.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government can boost the economy by getting out of citizens' way and removing onerous regulations. Government can make it more attractive for businesses to build and grow in the state as well as connect workers to jobs.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The biggest thing we can do to promote adequate, affordable, accessible healthcare coverage is to keep Wisconsinites working. Most people receive their healthcare coverage through work. Otherwise, Wisconsin is fortunate to have no gaps in that coverage for those in need. Our current system is working and Wisconsin DHS should do a better job of advertising it.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

George Washington's comment that “Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society” is still true today.

Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Disagree

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I believe that our fallen nature makes humans prone to strife & power grabs. The Founders knew this, prompting their preemptive limitations & separation of powers.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a grateful Christian and only live out those values by the grace of God living in me.

https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2019/legislators/assembly/1934

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My prior service in this seat equips me to serve on Day 1. Additionally, I have had the background of owning a small business with my husband, working in the investment industry for 13 years, serving on our local chamber of commerce as well as a local nursing home committee, and having established and run a faith-based non-profit serving parents raising children with special needs. All of this has given me broad experience that is extraordinarily helpful in the service of Wisconsinites.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I strive to provide constituents with accessible, approachable government in the 38th Assembly District. My office has had a culture of responsiveness, regardless of the viewpoints of those who reach out to us.
