RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Life is sacred and our public policy should consider and reflect that. Abortion should not be seen as a form of birth control. At the same time, I believe the restriction of abortion should be an issue of states' rights, and the federal government should not interfere with state legislation on abortions.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Taxpayer money should not be used to fund abortion services that a majority of taxpayers find morally and ethically objectionable.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I believe we must simplify our corporate tax code. As we exit an unprecedented pandemic, Florida has an opportunity to become an economic leader of the United States. But we must ensure we have a business-friendly environment. I want to reduce the tax burden on small businesses to promote entrepreneurship. To do so, I want to reduce the corporate income tax rate to at least the rate assessed temporarily during 2020, 4.458%, which netted a positive revenue for the state for the year. At the end of 2021, the rate returned to 5.5%, despite a growing economy and clear evidence that a lower tax rate was beneficial to both the economy and state revenue. I would also close tax loopholes that can only be utilized by large corporations such as Disney who can afford to hire teams of experienced accountants, passing the tax burden on to small businesses.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Overall I would seek to eliminate wasteful government spending on programs that do not provide a net benefit to our citizens or can be better accomplished by the private sector, such as the $35 million taxpayer-funded baseball training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
We should not fund college education with taxpayer money, especially when demand for college has become far too high due to our education system not promoting trade schools, apprenticeships, and careers that don't require a college degree. The state should continue its financial support of state schools for in-state citizens, however.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The government should not be able to close churches unless a court order under strict criteria has been issued. (A health mandate is not the same as a court order). This church must be able to appeal this order. In all other cases, the government should not interfere in religious ceremonies or the practice of religion.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Option C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Governments should not be allowed to require vaccinations of citizens, this is an overreach of power and a violation of bodily autonomy.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We can eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism by ensuring our law enforcement agencies have the resources needed to uphold the law and protect our citizens. This means ensuring funding and training for departments and officers and never giving legitimacy to radical anti-police movements like Defund the Police.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
I respect the right of citizens to choose what businesses they patronize, just as I respect the right of a business to choose who they do business with. Personally, I, like Governor DeSantis, am a proponent of Israel and its fight for existence. I am also a proponent of a two-state solution.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
As a nation of immigrants, I welcome those who seek a better life so long as they do it the legal way. Under no circumstances do I condone individuals entering our country illegally by sneaking across our borders. Doing this prevents us from knowing who is coming into our country, what they are doing while they are here, and what they are bringing with them. If we cannot control our borders, then we cannot call ourselves a sovereign country.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
As State Representative, I would introduce a bill to create Universal Education Savings Accounts that would enable Florida parents to apply an education credit to any school of their choice, providing parents with greater education options for their children.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Choose not to answer
The Supreme Court has already issued an opinion on this matter, and as State Representative I am not in any position to approve of or change this matter.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a practicing member of the Catholic church, and I am heavily involved in the community at the Chapel at Ocean Reef, including membership in Chapel Women Connect, a local Christian women's group.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
The only way to ensure trust in our democratic institutions is to restore trust in the democratic process. This means securing our elections and safeguarding them from any interference, foreign or domestic. Currently, any individual can drop off two ballots at an elections office, not including their own or family members. I believe without the written consent of a voter, no one else should be able to deliver a ballot for another person. This creates a risk of "ballot harvesting" that must not be allowed. We also need a better system of tracking vote-by-mail ballots through the postal service, as ballots frequently go missing without any accountability or explanation. Every ballot should be tracked akin to a package, being scanned at each arrival and departure from postal facilities. I also believe Florida must restrict no-excuse absentee voting. Florida provides ample time for voters to vote early, and voters should only be able to acquire absentee ballots for a legitimate reason.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
We must fight racism, but we must fight racism in a manner that fights it at its source, rather than fighting the symptoms. We must not restrict the rights of citizens, including their right to free speech, but rather ensure children grow up with strong families that promote good values. A child should NEVER be taught in schools to feel shame or guilt simply for the color of their skin, just as they should never be taught to feel inferior or superior for the color of their skin. Stopping racism in a free society means ensuring equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome. We should make sure people of all races have access to education opportunities by expanding school choice, and that children of all races grow up in healthy households with two parents.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A), however, we must ensure the state has fair, reasonable laws that stop the destruction of Florida’s unique and sensitive environment. In our own district, the Florida Keys and its underwater environment are extremely sensitive to water quality. Harsh chemicals and a lack of fresh water can cause devastation in the coral reefs that prop up our tourism and fishing industries. Similarly, seagrass beds in the Keys are currently rapidly diminishing, and several initiatives to allow for more destruction have been introduced in the legislature. Seagrass supports biodiversity in our environment and stops the erosion of our shores.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
I support an "all-of-the-above" energy plan
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government exists first and foremost to protect and uphold the natural rights of citizens, including life, liberty, and property, from all threats. Second, it exists to protect the rights afforded to citizens by our nation's founding documents. The government itself does not exist to give or take away rights, only to protect them. Beyond this, government functions are to be strictly defined by our Constitution, and must not interfere with the goal of protecting our rights. Government is best when it is closely controlled by the people, therefore government administration and policymaking are best done at the state and local level, not by a disconnected and bloated federal government. This is not to say I don't think the government can play some reasonable role in improving our lives. For example, the State of Florida funds numerous programs in Monroe County that provide essential services, like basic medical care for underinsured children. However, the state is now neglecting many of those programs because we have a disconnected and disengaged leadership representing us. I want to see the state reduce wasteful spending on programming that does not provide a real benefit to residents.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I want the voters to know that I am running to be their voice in Tallahassee. I am not funded by lobbyists and special interests, I am people powered by those in District 120. I want to fight the rising cost of living and property insurance rates in Monroe County by tackling tort reform to stop frivolous lawsuits that pass the cost on to consumers. Florida is home to 9% of the nation's property insurance claims, but 79% of the nation's property insurance lawsuits, but leadership in Tallahassee currently won't do anything because many of them are trial attorneys who have no interest in tort reform. I will stop ALL increases in taxation in our county on both businesses and individuals. We are coming out of a devastating pandemic, and the last thing we need is an increase in cost for our residents. I will fight for our district's economic interests, from stopping the biggest unfair regulations, all the way down to advocating for our iconic Key Lime Pie. Most importantly, I want to hear from and be engaged in the issues facing our constituents. My office will always be open to our people, and I will always pick up the phone to hear their thoughts and concerns, no matter their party, no matter how big or small the issue. I will be a true representative for all our people.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
No funds should be taken away from Florida's law enforcement.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support background checks as they are currently conducted in the State of Florida. We need better enforcement of the laws currently on the books, not new laws. We must make sure violent criminals do not slip through the legal cracks I do not support weapons bans or magazine capacity bans. I believe we need strict criteria for the Extreme Risk Protection Orders (aka Red Flag Laws) that are currently in place in Florida to prevent their weaponization. We also need to improve our mental health support in the State of Florida, including making sure mental health facilities are supported, funded, and improved, not closed down as so many have been.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
They should ONLY be able to sue firearms dealers if there is evidence of malfeasance and neglect of the law.
