As Commissioner of Agriculture, my purview would not include the implementation of healthcare policies. I personally believe the less the government is involved, the more likely it is we'll have adequate, affordable healthcare for everyone.

I take a Laissez-faire approach. Government's role is to "draw the lines" on the field, and get out of the way of job creators.

I'm a 4th generation Florida farmer with a lifetime of experience working in citrus and cattle. For two decades I've served as chief executive officer of Labor Solutions, a personnel services company with 5 locations in Central Florida. Dark Hammock Legacy Ranch is my beef cattle operation in Highlands County, Florida. I'm married to Becky Troutman, a former teacher with a graduate degree in school psychology. Becky works in her community to make local education better, especially for children from low income areas.
