Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest, when the life of the mother is at risk.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Proper vetting of individuals wanting to come to the U.S from countries with known ties to terror. Help other countries in their fight to show unity of purpose. There is no negotiating with them. A unified front is what is necessary to combat and eliminate the threat.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Too much power from any branch of government can corrupt the whole process by which the country is governed. They were geniuses when they wrote the Constitution.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My life has been a life of service, giving back to my community has always been an obligation and never a burden. I have held strongly to the belief that in service our hands become God's hands reaching out to the community. There is nothing that lifts up a community more than when people give back to it. My Christian faith has guided me through every step in my life and has also brought me to this point to run for Congress.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am for a 10 year path to citizenship dreamers and having the dreamers pay for the wall. A $1000 application fee for citizenship and $500 renewal each year. These immigrants can not be convicted of a crime and must obey the law and pay taxes. The must also do 50 hours each year of community service to assimilate better in their communities. The fees collected by Trumps 1.8 million estimated dreamers will be over 10 Billion dollars and pay for the wall. I am against regulations that inhibit growth. We are currently seeing growth at a rate higher than expected under President Trump. I will support the path we are currently on to maintain the growth we have been experiencing.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
We are too intelligent of a people to not be able to fix our broken healthcare in this country. We owe it to the American people to come up with a solution before it gets any worse. It will get worse if we sit on our hands and do nothing.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Create an environment that encourages growth by decreasing regulation. Growth occurs most when government gets out of the way.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
Just make it more simple and close some of the loopholes where everybody pays their fair share. Lowering the business tax was a good step. There are corporations that need to step up and create jobs now that the corporate tax has been lowered.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Bringing corporate money back to the U.S. was a great start. Lowering the corporate tax rate was another another incentive for companies to start hiring. We are experiencing lower unemployment although NJ is currently lagging behind. The market should determine someone's pay, not the government. Increasing the minimum wage would be a mistake. We need to create an environment where businesses are optimistic and want to continue to hire.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Stop raiding the trust fund. By design, the trust fund should never go under. We just have to be better stewards of the money that has been put away out of each persons wages for retirement. It is not an entitlement. More than 15% of everyone's wage between company and individual is put into this benefit.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
We have managed to get away from the role of our politicians being servants to our communities. I coordinate a meals program 3 time per year. for the last 10 years I have given well over 200 hours each year in service to my community through the organizations in which I belong. I firmly believe there is nothing that lifts up a community than people giving back. It promotes a sense of community pride. I understand there may be a learning curve, but my ability to adapt has always been one of my greatest strengths.
