Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None, although a premature birth may be necessary to save the life of the mother, and reasonable efforts should be made to save the child.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Conduct itself with dignity and respect all people. We should respect life in the fullest sense, using force only when necessary to protect innocent life.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
People are not always rational or charitable, and the power of government could be used to further personal ambition or profit.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe all the Catholic Church holds and teaches. Not every individual opinion expressed is part of this. At the same time, I believe the Constitution is the governing law for the United States and have sworn to uphold it. I believe in being truthful and ethical in governance, and that an exchange of money is inappropriate for a member of Congress, which is why I will not take donations in this campaign. I do not believe we can create a paradise, but that we have a system of government which can allow each of us to achieve goodness if we want it enough.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My Web site is quite clear, and there are interviews and videos online.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I think this needs a combined effort and cannot be addressed completely here. The collective buying power of the country should be able to obtain better pricing and services. At the same time, efforts to reduce healthcare costs and prevent gouging or waste should be made. It may take multiple efforts, possibly an expansion of Medicare or having health insurers compete for our business, or even engage managed care organizations. It needs real thought and discussion, not a rushed solution that is not sustainable.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Laws and regulations that promote healthy trading relationships, encourage competition, and support small business.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
It's a large subject. It should be simplified. All should pay their fair share, and it should be harder to game the system.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
A healthy and well-governed society in which free speech is guaranteed and entrepreneurship is encouraged. Honesty in government, and especially the elimination of big money from politics.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Financial management and protection of the fund from raiding.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have substantial experience leading complex technical projects and teams. It has required patience, initiative and fairness. I've volunteered with our young people in the parish, raised six children and been married 36 years. I've worked for many decades and have not been tainted by politics. At this point, I'm confident I can serve our people as I have served others at work and elsewhere.
