Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If the pregnancy is a threat to a mother's life, the mother should be allowed to make that decision herself.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
We must create a sincere understanding with the muslim world and not to blindly support their opponents . We must allow the middle east peace process to grow and develop by themselves. Our last 50 years of effort did not bring any solution. When we tried to prevent Quran burning in the USA, we could hardly gather 30 signatures and I was the first signatory. I am not a Muslim but I was born a minority and brought up with Muslims. My political guru is Sheik Majibur Rahman, founding father of Bangladesh. Today, I see a lot of posters in my hometown Berkeley welcoming the Muslims in America. In order to eradicate radical Islamic terrorism, we need to help in education, including study of evolution, science and technology to improve their living and livelihood situations by providing sustainable services such as providing water infrastructure to make clean drinking water for all instead of sending our armies and shedding American blood in foreign countries.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Constitution protects injustice, corruption, abuse and systemic racism. Those people in power tend to abuse power. No one should be above the law. The poor and the weak, mainly minorities are victims of these abuses. Our Constitution is one of the best in the world and many countries have followed, including India when they made their Constitution. We must follow the spirit of our Constitution. Our Constitutional rights are frequently violated by our judiciary system and beyond.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Mutual respect to individuals and surroundings, including those you disagree. Disagreement does not mean disrespectful. Once you treat your fellow citizens respectfully, it establishes communication and brings people closer which is very important and a more meaningful way to connect with each other and to create an opportunity to eliminate misunderstanding. American generosity and goodness of their heart are real and true spirit and strength of America. Our values must enrich the world in a meaningful way. Ours is the only culture in the world that accepts all cultures. It may not be out of place to mention here that my friend, guide and teacher Nobel Laureate Charles Townes received the Templeton Award in 2005 and I was invited to join his award ceremony in England. I learned a lot about Dr. Townes work and inspired by his spiritual leadership based on science and religion.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Request the Multi-billion dollar corporation to cover the healthcare insurance of those who are not covered . If they are not coming forward voluntarily, they should be levied with tax to cover the insurance of the rest of the people who do not have insurance or cannot afford insurance. In order to find affordable insurance for all, it must be accessible and no strings attached to it. If we do not do it, we are violating a basic and fundamental human rights. The President has declared during his campaign that nobody will die on the street under his watch because of lack of insurance. We will support him if he implements this promise. It is unfortunate and shameful that we could not cover the insurance of everybody. Covering health insurance for each citizen will reduce our health costs and improve the living condition of our people. I appeal to all of you to join this good fight.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government must be open and transparent and prevent corruption, which will generate a lot of additional income and this alone will further reduce unemployment, improve healthy living, better education means better job, better earning and better living. We have the best science and technology in the world and we are not using it to help people bring more money at home. Providing services based on science and technology and building water infrastructure and providing low interest loan would be the best way to reach the citizen of developing countries. I am an inventor of a hydro technology (Hydrogramin: Injecting freshwater to replenish the depleted aquifer). The aquifers depletion has created serious national & international problem due to land subsidence, it must be addressed and would create millions of job in each country including USA. We have the best technology to provide high quality technical services to protect our beautiful home the planet earth
What changes should be made to the tax code?
Eliminate all capital gains taxes on investments in small and startups firms Extend aspects of the Bush tax cuts such as child credit expansion and changes to marriage bonuses and penalties. Expand and make refundable the child and dependent care credit. Increase minority access to capital Create a retirement savings tax credit for low incomes End income tax for seniors making less than $50,000
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best investment for us is to give high quality education to our young students. Also, give proper respect and care to our teachers from primary to university who plays an important role in building character and careers of our children. In comparison, our education is lagging behind with many countries. Why our standard of eduction at primary, secondary and college-levels are lower than other advance countries? This matter is not being address adequately and is now long overdue. The tuition fee up to graduate level must be waived and shortage of fund is no excuse. In the long run, this investment will provide immense benefit and will change the future economy of our country for the better.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
The Social Security must be protected at any cost. The loophole in the social security must be checked. Removed the undesirable people in order to protect the social security funds. Safe and secure investment will protect social security and reduce unemployment will also enrich the funds. We must find the way to grow social security funds gradually and make stable risk free investment.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am adequately qualified to run the senate position. I was fortunate to work with the national secular politicians of my native country, Bangladesh. They are Maharajah T.N. Chakraborty (spent 33 years in prison) & my first political mentor who brought me to the political world and connected me with acting President Syed Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh exile government, former president Zillur Rahman and founding father Sk Majibur Rahman. I worked with them during and before the liberation war in 1971. I joined and later became acting general secretary of the Bangladesh Teachers Association. I left active politics and came to England for my Ph.D on the Mersey River. In 1982, I came to the US to study the SF Bay and joined Stanford University to study Canopy chemistry and global warming with support from US NASA. I joined CAL EPA & worked for 14 years to mitigate superfund sites. I became Charles Townes professor in 2007. I gained 40 years of experience in water Politics.
E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:
sfbasin@yahoo.com; 510-356-4762/510-575-5112
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I worked hard and came to my dream City Berkeley and became an inventor of Hydrogramin technology to replenish depleted aquifers by injecting fresh water to the naturally created water reservoir to prevent further land subsidence; increase crops, wood and canopy productivity; and increase coolness of our planet. Please read my non-profit website (www.iibhb.org) for additional information. I also want to share with you that I became the nation's worst victim of systemic racism, corruption and elder abuse by Berkeley, the so called most liberal city which was my dream city but it turned out to be a nightmare. The injustice that I experienced and the many people who suffered the same must be address. It can only happen if you support me. I came very late in the game and I assure you that I shall fight for you. You are my family. I count on your support.
