Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Under our Constitution, according to the Supreme Court, Roe v Wade (the case that made abortion legal nationwide) wasn't determined on the basis of abortion. Read the ruling and you'll see it was determined on the basis of the government staying out of decisions that should be between a person and their doctor alone. A majority of doctors won't perform abortions, and the government also can't force them to do it. So, I side with the ruling of our Supreme Court by virtue of the US Constitution, that abortions should be allowed as long as the doctor and the prospective mother or legal guardian both consent to the procedure.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Instances of terrorism have only increased since we began fighting the wars in the middle east, and it makes sense if you think about it. If a terrorist is in a cafe, along with 10 other people, and we blow up the cafe with a missile from a drone, the 10 innocent bystanders leave behind family and friends that either become terrorist sympathizers or terrorists themselves. Terror groups use these sorts of awful events to recruit people who already live in the West, such as the San Bernardino Shooter a couple of years ago. If we want to stop the terrorism in the West, we need to get out of those countries altogether and let the nations in the region handle it themselves.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
They were knowledgeable people who read the Bible, other religious texts, and philosophies from many philosophers, including those from the Enlightenment Era. They believed that the only way to have freedom of religion is to keep government completely out of it, because as soon as the government endorses, for example, Christianity, the next question naturally becomes "which sect?" This is also why it's not only impossible, but wrong, for Sharia Law to be a basis of law anywhere in the USA.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I strongly support and accept the teachings of Jesus Christ as quoted in the New Testament: Love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemy as yourself, take care of the poor, the indigent, the sick, treat others as you would like to be treated, and don't judge others until you've walked in their shoes. If we all tried every day to live like that, this world would be a paradise.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

I've written over 30,000 words of policy and philosophy on my website, VoteForCox.com. I'm hiding nothing. On some things, I'm to the right of the Republican Party. On others, I'm to the left of the Democratic Party. Overall, I believe in the right of the people to be free to make their own choices. It's not far off to say I believe people should be regulated much less, and industry/corporations should be regulated more.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
There are models throughout Western Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, etc., that all provide universal healthcare at a cost of 12% of of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) or less. The average is actually 9%. And everyone is covered. Here, it's 18%, and 28 million people are left without insurance. We must find a way to get ours to 12% or less, which will largely repair our economy at the same time as it frees up money to spend in actual free markets. And according to the CBO, for every 830 people without insurance in a given year, 1 will die as a result, which means we have almost 36,000 people die per year due to lack of health insurance. That's immoral.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Control captive markets such as healthcare, first off. Ultimately, our laws cannot ignore human nature, such as greed. Greed is hurting most people in this country just so a very few can buy more yachts. It's the government's job to protect the people from those who would harm us, and extreme greed and wealth harms all of us. The Founders of this country wanted this situation controlled. What changes should be made to the tax code?
To help take care of the poor and make society much more fair for all, I propose a return to the system instituted by Republican president Dwight Eisenhower, where the wealthy paid a *much* higher *personal* income tax at the very top, while *corporate* taxes are low (as long as they hire American workers at decent wages). In this scenario, owners and shareholders will be much more likely to keep profits in their companies, expanding pay for workers, hiring more people, and buying goods and services from other companies, which will help those companies as well. That's how you make an economy work for everybody.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
First, stop stealing from it. Our government has stolen almost $3 trillion from it, and the middle class is being killed off. Currently, Social Security taxes are capped at about our first $114,000 in income, so any money earned above that doesn't get taxed for Social Security. If you make $5 million, you're only taxed on the first $114,000. Instead, I'd like to invert SS taxes so that it kicks in only *after* you've earned about $75,000 in taxable income, but it applies to every dollar you earn after that. That will take the squeeze off the middle class and poor, and put the burden on those who can easily afford it. This will make SS solvent for generations, too.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I'm self-educated. I mostly read US History, economics, etc. I only read non-fiction. But beyond that, I believe the only two qualifications *any* public servant actually needs are: 1) Wisdom/good judgment. We need to be able to make good decisions. Knowledge can be garnered at the time it's needed, but wisdom can't. 2) Good character. We need people who will stand up for what's right for *us*, the people, rather than for corporations or big-money interests. Anybody with those two qualities would be great leaders. We have almost none of them in office right now.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm independent (formerly a Republican, over 15 years ago), which means my only loyalty is to you, not to parties, or to their big, corporate sponsors. Rather than leaving behind millions of dollars when I die, I want to leave behind millions of people whose lives were improved due to my service. My two big campaign promises are: Introduce legislation to base congressional salaries on the median wage in their districts. This way they only get a raise when you do. Because I'm not a hypocrite, I have pledged to donate my pay above the median in my district to teachers in my district to pay for supplies. That's $94,000 per year. And I've signed a contract to do just that via a non-profit called Candidates With A Contract. You can look it up. I also want to exempt war veterans from federal income taxes for life on their first $100,000 per year. They've paid enough already. Bottom line: Nobody can serve two masters. I choose you, the people.
