Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion services should be legal and non-cost-restrictive. I am firmly and proudly pro-choice. Prohibition -- of drugs, of booze, of behavior -- does not stop those things from occurring, or being demanded and supplied. It merely heightens danger, reduces oversight, and increases risk for users and providers. People who really want to eliminate abortion should be pouring every dime they have into contraceptives -- birth control, condoms, IUDs, etc. until we have 100% efficacy and 100% access regardless of income. They should be teaching people how to have open, comfortable conversations about their sexual relationships and desires for the future so that EVERY encounter begins and ends with every participant on the same page.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
The best way to build peace around the world is raise the general socio-economic level of every nation. We should stop selling weapons to nations around the world and invest heavily in infrastructure, healthcare and peaceful exchange around the world.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
I think human beings have both a Cooperative and Competitive drive in us. I think the aims of the separation of powers in the Constitution reflects the Founders desire to limit the ability of a single individual's Competitive drive to result in their control of the entire nation.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
"Truly I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God." -- Mark 10:24 "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no works? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works." -- James 2:14-18
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Liberal
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am a firm believer that capitalism tends towards the concentration of production and profit in the hands of very few. I believe the commanding heights of industries that are public goods -- healthcare, education, the environment -- should be run democratically for the good of the nation.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would support Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All plan and move the United States towards a single-payer system.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should subsidize and invest in industries it wishes to see thrive, especially those who are currently unable to generate a profit. Things like solar power and internet infrastructure exist today because of government investment. Additionally, anti-poverty programs provide huge boosts to the economy by reducing costs associated with homelessness.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
The most important changes should be closing many of the corporate tax loopholes. The fact that Amazon.com pays a lower effective tax rate than many middle class families is unconscionable.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to lower unemployment is direct job-creation by the government through a Green Jobs program.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
I would eliminate the payroll tax cap on Social Security benefits. Those making over $250,000 should be paying their fair share to guarantee a future for seniors and people with disabilities.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Having run a veterans' non-profit for the last 4 years, I am disgusted by the way that corporate money prevents simple, good legislation from passing. I am proud to be the only candidate in my district who is completely grassroots funded, without any corporate, part, or Super-PAC funding.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am the only candidate in my district who is completely grassroots funded. We have raised over $27,000 from more than 1,600 individual people. We can defeat the two-party system, if we have the courage to fight it.
