OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Existing laws are adequate and have been upheld by the Supreme Court.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We must protect American Citizens as a priority as a Constitutional directive. Any group that can ultimately threaten our way of life must be confronted to prevent the loss of American lives and property.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The Founders crafted the Constitution to empower the people to control their government rather than the government controlling the people. The system of checks and balances is to ensure that no branch becomes too powerful, and the vote of the people is the ultimate check on power of the entire government.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

A detailed summary is available on my website.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Businesses boost the economy through employment and commerce. Our government benefits from the taxes generated from these activities. Generally speaking, other than assuring the safety of products/services, the government should have a minimal role in mandating business activities.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I would seek ways to provide greater tax cuts to the middle class. The recent tax reforms were a good start, but didn't benefit this segment as much as it should. Government spending is filled with waste, fraud and abuse, and has not been a good steward of our tax dollars. Spending needs to be brought under control immediately and a tax code that provides for responsible spending will be much easier to enact legislatively.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Support small businesses, and encourage colleges to reform to the 21 century job market. Small businesses compete at a disadvantage to their larger corporate counterparts, but still account for a majority of jobs created. Government mandates on small business will decrease their ability to grow and create new jobs. Additionally, when college kids graduate with degrees such as Art History, Literature or cultural studies they will find it extremely difficult to land good paying jobs in the modern economy.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

1) create a 15-20 year plan to reduce our national debt. As our interest payment to service the debt grows it will put pressure on these programs. 2) Audit all government spending to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse. This will assure we're spending money responsibly. 3) Support that Social Security must keep pace with the cost of living index.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Husband, Father and 20+ year resident of District 15. I've experienced all the same challenges of my friends and neighbors living in our California district. The undergraduate and MBA degrees are nice, but the practical life experiences (managing the cost of living, getting kids a good education, etc) are what have best prepared me to serve our district.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

As a non-party preference candidate I'm the only candidate who can go to Washington free of the pressure and influences from the political establishment. Similarly, my campaign has been funded by individual contributions. I have rejected all donations from PACs and special interests. My vote in Congress is not bought or controlled.
