..

Maintain the current strategy.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mankind is sinful by nature. Mistrust and unethical tendencies led to the need for separation and limitations of powers. For the same reasons, America's Founding Fathers did not intend for career politicians but rather civic public servants.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Through Jesus Christ I am redeemed and set free from the bondage of sin and death. I am a growing child of God, continually pursuing more of His wisdom in my spiritual journey. I enjoy the company of fellow believers on that journey and rely heavily on prayer for peace and comfort. The Bible is the true word of God and guide for our daily living. I strive to display the spiritual gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, understanding, gentleness and self-control in my daily living and decision making. I believe in His redemptive grace and mercy.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My website and Facebook page outlines my position on various topics.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The problem of affordable healthcare is about more than 'coverage'. We have spent many years discussing who should pay for healthcare rather than focus on how to keep healthcare affordable and accessible. Engaging providers who are already on journeys of efficiency and improvement in the conversation (rather than pharmaceutical and insurance lobbyists) about revising our system of healthcare will lead to better solutions which keep the health, safety and well-being of individuals as the focal point.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government's role in boosting the economy should be limited to establishing the Federal Reserve interest rate. Government should not be in the business of subsidizing industries over the long-term.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The tax code should be simplified immensely. Refundable credits (those which produce a refund larger than amount of tax withheld) should be eliminated. The complicated system of credits, deductions, and varying tax rates should be reduced or eliminated to enable most individuals to prepare their own tax return.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

I don't believe unemployment is a problem. In this district, lack of enough workers is a problem. Therefore, I would focus on workforce development. A supply of workers will allow businesses to grow and additional jobs to be created.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Fiscal discipline is essential to maintaining Social Security benefits for future generations. Social Security funds should be used only to pay the benefits promised. The cap on Social Security wages subject to tax must be evaluated periodically.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I meet the Constitutional definition of qualification for the office I seek. My experience in working with diverse groups of people in positions without formal authority have allowed me to gain experience in communicating and collaborating to achieve goals. This is an essential skill for public office as we need more focus on solutions and less on blaming others. Additionally, my educational background has exposed me to a variety of topics, perspectives and research strategies which will allow me to easily grasp complex topics and identify connections necessary for viable solutions.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am committed to communicating with the constituents of the district regularly. My job is to represent YOU, I must be in communication with you to achieve this goal. For some of the topics above, I chose "neutral" or "no answer" because they are highly complex issues which government may have "some" role in but not an entire responsibility to resolve. I would enjoy the opportunity to visit your city or county to hear from you.
