I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THE LUTHERAN FAITH BUT AFTER MARRYING MY WIFE I EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO CONVERT TO CATHOLICISM. WE PRAY A LOT, ESPECIALLY FOR THE SICK, THOSE WHO ARE SEPARATED FROM LOVED ONES WHO ARE PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY, THOSE WHO LOSE LOVED ONES IN SERVICE TO THE COUNTRY AND TO GIVE OUR LEADERS STRENGTH AND WISDOM IN GUIDING THE COUNTRY.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF PUBLIC INFORMATION YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ANSWER THAT. I HAVE NEVER HELD PUBLIC OFFICE. I believe that a congressman should vote in a manner that represents his district values. If those values are different than my own I believe I need to put aside my own opinions and represent the district.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
FIRST OF ALL I WOULD SEEK OPINIONS FROM ALL AREAS OF EXPERTS AND WORK BIPARTISAN TO HAMMER OUT A PLAN THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE I REPRESENT.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
MAKING SURE THAT FUNDING IS AVAILABLE TO SMALL BUSINESSES AND INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES WHO ARE THE BACKBONE OF OUR ECONOMY. WE NEED TO CUT BACK ON SOME OF THE STRANGLING REGULATIONS THAT HINDER EVERYONE BUT SINCE MY DISTRICT IS MOSTLY RURAL I THINK THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY IS WAY OVER REGULATED.

TAX CUTS ARE ALWAYS GOOD BUT I WOULD HAVE CALLED FOR THE TAX CUTS TO CORPORATE TO BE BASED ON THEIR ABILITY TO BRING JOBS HOME FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND CREATE JOBS IN AMERICA FIRST.

WE NEED TO QUIT STEALING FUNDS FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES AND MAKE THEM SEPARATE FROM THE GENERAL FUND. THAT WOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO KEEP IT SOLVENT.

MY LIFE EXPERIENCE QUALIFIES ME - ALSO I BELIEVE IN THE GOLDEN RULE - I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT A CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE SHOULD ACTUALLY REPRESENT HIS DISTRICTS WISHES AND NOT BOW TO OUTSIDE PRESSURES. MY FATHER ONCE TOLD ME THAT WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE RIGHT THING TO DO IS YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE RIGHT THING AND YOU FOLLOW THEIR COUNSEL. I AM A RETIRED ENGINEER AND FARMER. I LIVE ON THE FAMILY FARM THAT MY GRANDFATHER PURCHASED IN 1912 AND IN THE HOUSE THAT I WAS RAISED IN. I BELIEVE THAT ALL CITIZENS - REGARDLESS OF THEIR PARTY - REGARDLESS OF THEIR SEX - REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE AND REGARDLESS OF THEIR ETHNICITY - HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HEARD AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES SHOULD MAKE SURE THEY ARE AVAILABLE TO LISTEN. I BELIEVE THAT LEADERSHIP IS NOT INHERITED BUT DEVELOPED AND REFINED BY THE LEADER. I BELIEVE THAT A LEADER SHOULD HAVE A VISION AND FOLLOW THAT VISION. I BELIEVE A LEADER IS SOMEONE WHO PEOPLE TURN TO IN TIMES OF CRISIS.
