Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am Pro-life but I understand that there are some very limited circumstances in which the life of the mother is put at risk. The only circumstance in which an abortion should be allowed is in these limited cases where the life of the mother is actual at risk.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Creating a check on the sinful nature of mankind led our Founders to separate and limit government power. As a Christian I believe that man is inherently selfish and sinful, and America's Founders believed the same. Understanding this, the Founders took steps to divide our government's power between 3 branches of government and between many individuals. This insured that no one sinful person controlled all of the nation's power and further created a check on the selfish actions of groups.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian that has accepted Jesus Christ into my life and my heart. Additionally, I am a Missouri Synod Lutheran who believes in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and that scripture is the Word of God. Based on my faith, I have deeply held personal convictions that shape my beliefs regarding the sanctity of life and limited role of government in our everyday lives. I also believe that our faith is under attack and our freedom to worship and practice our faith needs to be protected. On the issues of protecting the lives of the unborn, limiting government overreach into our everyday lives, and protecting the free exercise of faith, I will not waiver.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am a member of the Mercer County Republican Party, the Mercer County Right to Life, the NRA, Buckeye Firearms, and other conservative groups. I have donated money to conservative republican candidates, elected officials, and causes in this and other states. I have also worked for or volunteered for conservative republican candidates in several states including Ohio. There are public records of these donations and political activity. I have only every supported republican candidates who pledge to support life, the 2nd Amendment, and limited, common sense, government. Additionally, my policies and positions regarding the sanctity of Life, the 2nd Amendment, government spending, and economic policies are publicly available on my website, TravisFaber.org. I am proud to publicly state my positions and conservative beliefs.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to bring down unemployment is to reduce burdensome regulations and government's control over business. We should also work to improve the state's business climate by lowering burdensome taxes on job creators, and by incentivizing the hard work and personal responsibility by reducing personal taxes and reforming our welfare system.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
To make healthcare coverage more affordable and accessible we need to remove government mandates on healthcare coverage and give the public more freedom in the selection of their healthcare providers and insurance coverage. The best way to do this would be to repeal the Affordable Care Act (commonly known as Obamacare) and to allow the free market to guide our healthcare insurance marketplace. We should also open the insurance marketplace up and allow individuals to cross state lines to purchase the best insurance coverage they can find, just like auto insurance. These steps would lower the cost of health insurance which would in turn make it more accessible to individuals that increasingly can't afford their coverage or their high deductible plans.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government's greatest role in boosting the economy should be to actively take steps to get out of the way of our job creators and innovators. Government can do this by reducing burdensome taxes and regulations that stifle innovation, investment, expansion, and hiring. Additionally, government can and should support and incentives the hard work of our citizens by lowering taxes on their income and by passing comprehensive welfare reform. We should immediately reinstating work requirements for welfare recipients in Ohio.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a practicing attorney who has been working in the legal field for over 7 years. I currently specialize in civil litigation and business law, and have represented clients against the EPA, OSHA, and other state and federal regulators. I also manage the law firm that I work at, a small business with several fulltime employees. I formally served as an assistant prosecutor in the Mercer County Municipal Court. Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for the CA Group, Inc., a company that specializes in finding employment and life enriching opportunities for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. I am the senior member of my county's Notary Commission, a member of my city's Civil Service Commission, and a member of the Mercer County Bar Association's Executive Board.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am running for State Representative because we need a strong conservative voice representing us in Columbus. A voice that will stand up for life; a voice that will defend the 2nd Amendment; and a voice that will stand up to the special interest groups that are trying to regulate our lives, our businesses, the way we raise our children, and the way we practice our faith.
