Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only in cases of rape or to protect a mother from death.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
"In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." -Thomas Jefferson The natural tendency of man to dictate the lives of other men caused the Founders to define, separate and limit powers in the Constitution so that no one man (king) or class (aristocracy) could establish a tyranny.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a devout Catholic who believes in God and that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for our sins. I believe the family is the foundation of our society.

Very Conservative

My voting record and comments are documented within the City of Powell's website - https://cityofpowell.us/government/agendas-minutes/
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The reduction of Federal regulations and in some instances, the collective bargaining process would remove barriers to employment in many of our sectors. In addition, elimination of the minimum wage, a reduction of taxation rates and welfare reform would level the playing field for the disenfranchised to have more opportunity to higher paying jobs.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Restore the practice of medicine to the patient caregiver relationship and greatly reduce government regulations which increase costs such as requiring certain coverage and prevent health insurers from selling across state lines.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Invest in small business with providing them incentives while reducing the multi factored leveling of requirements. It is not the government's role to boost the economy. The best thing government could do to boost the economy is to reduce taxes, cut spending and get out of the marketplace.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have served as a legislator for over eight years with two of those as the executive of a growing municipality. I am a professional land use planner who understands development and its socioeconomic impact. I am a person who is accessible, approachable and social media driven. I believe in reaching out to the community rather than being reactive to situations. I am willing to listen. I take a commonsense approach to problem solving. You may not always like my answer but I will always give you one. Outreaching to our community by holding coffee chats, round tables, and answering instant messages is my belief.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
My philosophy in life aligns with my political views. I am a law abiding, constitution loving Republican. I respect the will of the voters and I respect the process - that’s what our country is built on. I am a family man with a marriage built on faith and commitment. For 18 years I have held our marriage in the highest regard. We have been blessed with our four children - Henry 15, Annie - 12, Betsy - 12, and Charlotte - 12.
