Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
As a matter of public policy, I support protecting the unborn and their rights with very few exceptions. Further, I am strongly opposed to the use of taxpayer dollars supporting abortion resources.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Founders recognized that in order to govern himself equitably, man had to create separate and independent legislative, executive, and judicial branches. They recognized that this separation was man's best defense against tyranny. They realized that without self-imposed limitations the edifice of government would overwhelm the power of the common man and in defense of the individual, they structured separate but equal powers to balance the power of the common man with that of the government
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes that Jesus, the Son of God, died for my salvation. I believe in a just, loving, holy, righteous and unchanging God. I believe that the Bible is the word of God and that its teachings are timeless and universal. I strive to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ, who instructed in Matthew 22:36-39 that the greatest commandments are as follows: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My lifetime of leadership in the business world and the support I have given to conservative candidates at the local, state, and federal level establish my conservatism.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to bring down unemployment is to insure that we have an educated, trained, and trainable workforce capable of contributing to a 21st century economy. We must prepare citizens for success in academia and in the workplace. We must embrace the ideal that work is a foundation of every individual's dignity. We must provide opportunities of every man and woman to earn their share of the American Dream through hard work, fair opportunity and career and financial advancement based on merit and achievement. We must never allow voluntary absence from the workforce to be as financially rewarding as participation in it.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Individuals should be educated about their health options and should be empowered to take control of their own health care. I believe in the further promulgation of Health Savings Accounts as a means to that end. I believe in breaking down arbitrary barriers such as state boundaries that prevent individuals from shopping for the best protection for themselves and their families. I believe in well educated consumers with options and free markets that lead to choices for every individual.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should create a level playing field for all economic competitors, minimize tax rates and regulations, and then absent itself from the process of “boosting the economy”. The most important role that government should play in boosting the economy is ensuring that every employer has access to an educated, trained, and trainable workforce. It should not insert itself into the economic competition between competitive entities. Managing the environment in which these companies work (specifically tax and regulatory), and ensuring a competent workforce is the limit of the role government should play in boosting the economy.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am passionate about creating opportunities for people in the 29th District and across Indiana. I will always put the taxpayer’s interest ahead of the tax spender. I am a Conservative Christian who eagerly serves my church and my community. I fully and unapologetic-ally support our 2nd Amendment rights and the Pro-Life community. I have lived and worked in Noblesville for 20 years and was named the Business Person of the Year by the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce in 2012. During my tenure, we have created more than 700 jobs at Gaylor Electric while establishing nationally award-winning internships for high school and college students. The greatest challenge Indiana’s roaring economy faces is the lack of a skilled workforce. Providing nationally award-winning training is my passion at Gaylor Electric, and I will bring that same passion to the Statehouse. My priorities will also include economic development, jobs, education, and personal liberty.
