Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Under no circumstances should abortion be allowed.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mankind's selfish and sinful nature caused America's Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution. The statement, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" sums up the problem with giving one branch of government or one leader too much power. The Founders were well aware of the potential for abuse because of England's tyrannical governmental abuses on them.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian who was saved at a young age and try to live a Christian life daily. I believe that Jesus is the only son of God, that we are all sinners, and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and then rose again. I believe in salvation only by faith in Christ through grace.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

The government rarely solves problems well. In fact, oftentimes, a government's attempt to solve a problem only creates a far bigger problem down the road - and the government's answer when the problem gets far bigger is to tax more and to spend more to try and fix the problem that was supposed to be the fix. We have gone through a time of massive expansion of government programs, and if we hope to have a free country and state in the future, we need to scale these back. It is a problem that politicians become heroes for spending other peoples' money to solve still other's problems - and yet the solution never comes.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

I believe that the best way to bring down unemployment is to keep taxes low for small business and to reduce government regulations on the hiring of employees. Small business owners are smart, and they are not going to hire someone if that person will cost them more than what the employee is bringing to the company.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Take the government out of it and decrease regulations. Also, I believe it would be prudent to create a more fair marketplace by making routine matters something that a person can pay cash for and not deal with insurance companies and make the more major medical issues what insurance companies deal with.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government should, as much as possible, stay out of the local economic issues. I think with respect to international trade, the federal government should consult with economists and develop policies that benefit American businesses and enterprises. Governmental regulations can be a barrier to hiring, so State government should leave companies and employees to make some of these decisions, rather than dictating every decision to the employer and employee through laws and regulations.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I grew up working at my father's funeral homes; went to college, where I excelled in music and developed friendships; worked in Indianapolis for a few years; and then went to law school. I have been a conservative county councilman for nearly a decade, and care about doing a good job. In my law practice, I deal with how the laws are interpreted everyday, and I believe that this gives me a good deal of information and experience that will be an asset for policy work. I also am bold, and have experienced a great deal of success from making bold moves. As Christian conservatives, we should be bold in pursuing our agenda.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am married to a wonderful Christian woman and have three daughters, ages 9, 7, and 5. I work very hard, do not drink alcohol, and am dedicated to doing a good job for the State of Indiana. I believe that we need to fight against attempts to take away our rights, or we are going to lose them. I also believe that one of the largest policy changes going on right now in the country under the radar is one of doing away with religious freedom. This concerns me greatly as the framework is being laid.
