Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Under no circumstances should abortion be legal. Abortion as defined to kill an innocent unborn baby should not be allowed. There will be rare situations when the unborn baby will die when a doctor is attempting to save the mother’s life; however the intention is to save the mother not kill the baby.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The worse nature of mankind is one of greed, power, and envy. The best nature of mankind is compassion, sacrifice, and love for ourselves and our neighbors. The Founder's created a system of government that plays each of those qualities against themselves by spreading out powers, duties, and responsibility in co-equal branches of government. This makes governing difficult and often inefficient, but it keeps any one human trait, person, or branch from becoming too dominant.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes in one God who is perfect in every way. God does not make mistakes so I must trust in his Word as detailed in the Bible. My decisions in life are guided by my faith, I strive to become a better person everyday by embracing God's plan for me.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
One way to validate my answer is to look at the groups that are supporting me in my campaign. Groups like Texas Right to Life and Empower Texans stand at the forefront in the fight for conservative values. Also my political contributions to groups and people fighting to maintain and strengthen our Constitutional Rights. Finally is my time working as an attorney and suing the government over religious rights issues.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Decrease regulations and taxes that hampers a business to flourish and hire more staff. Cut licensing fess that are not directly needed for professions that require health and safety oversight. We also must fix the inequality in education that hampers a persons ability to enter college or a vocational field strictly because the child was "zoned" to an underperforming school. Children in these areas enter the workforce unprepared to compete for a job.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Push legislators on the federal level to allow insurance companies to issue policies across state lines. Competition has always been an effective way to lower cost while improving services. In some rural areas people are limited to only one or two insurance companies. Make medical billing more transparent so that the patient is clear on what is being done to them and the cost. This would stop defensive and incentivized medical care that is not patient focused. Cut taxes on businesses, those cuts will allow an extra income stream to the business which can be used to provide medical insurance for workers. Encourage the restructuring of the way doctors are paid so that prevention is rewarded.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The major role for government in boosting the economy is to stay out of the way. Overregulation is a drag on the economy and hurts low income and middle class families the most. The government's focus should be on removing obstacles so that businesses and workers to strive.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
At a young age I served as reconnaissance in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Provide Comfort. This combat experience in countries lacking our system of personal freedoms, cemented my belief in the importance of protecting constitutional rights and individual liberties. As a small business owner, I have also experienced the impact of taxes and regulations on my wage and hiring decisions. My employees are like a family to me but every dollar that I have to use on taxes or regulations, takes away from the pay increases that they deserve. Like most small business owners, our profit margin is slim and on some months nonexistent, but we still have to find a way to meet tax and regulatory burdens. This unfortunately keeps us from hiring and increasing wages. These experiences along with my time serving in various community organizations and Republican Party organizations, makes me uniquely qualified to represent my district.
