Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Never. No exceptions, no exemptions.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
The United States must confront global and regional Islamist threats anywhere and everywhere the arise. We do this through a strong military that deploys on counter-terrorism missions to find and kill terrorist where ever they are. We partner with allies like Israel to share intelligence and kill our mutual enemies. We protect ourselves by a border wall that keeps those who wish to do us harm outside of our great land. We further enhance maritime and air security measures, and we fix the problem with visa overstays through robust tracking and monitoring.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Founders realized man's fallen state. As such, some men who have not found our Lord and Savior will desire earthly power over their fellow men, wealth at the public's expense, and other abuses of human dignity and freedom. As such they set the constitution as chains to bind government and allow man to flourish.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Every morning I wake up and start my day with Scripture, prayer, and reflection. Every decision I make has to meet the test of "Is this what the Lord wants of me?" My faith is foremost in my being, everything else is just an additional characteristic. When I gave my life to Christ, I gave my life to Christ for Him to use as He wills me.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
For most of my adult life I have been an unpaid conservative activist. On election day in 2008 I held an anti-socialist rally at my realty office in Tyler. That's where I met JoAnn Fleming. She and I went on to found Grassroots America - We The People. I then took my activism to fight to get Senator Ted Cruz elected. I opened my office conference room as a liberty center for him to use as a campaign office and phone bank. After Senator Cruz was elected I walked away from my very profitable businesses to open his East Texas office and for the past years I have served on his staff. I have supported conservative candidates with my time, my money, and my effort.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would promote adequate, affordable, and accessible healthcare coverage by letting the invisible hand of the free market work. We do not have a healthcare problem, but a healthcare coverage problem because of government intervention. We must immediately detach health care coverage from employment, allow plans to be purchased across state lines, and increase the tax free HSA contribution limit.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Government should set the conditions for the economy to flourish by maintaining a favorable tax and regulatory environment. We must pass the REINS Act so unelected bureaucrats do not stifle business. We must further decrease and flatten business and income tax. We must audit the Federal Reserve.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
Ideally, the tax code would be flat. I do not think we will get there in one bill, but I will vote for any bill that decreases taxes and gets us closer to a flat tax. I am not opposed to a FAIR Tax, which is charged based on consumption. However, before this is implemented we must ensure the income tax is removed so we are not causing a net increase in taxes.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to bring down unemployment is to free up capital at the top so businesses can create more jobs. We also must free up consumer dollars so more goods and services can be purchased.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
I would keep the promise made to those who are soon to be reliant upon social security but transition us away from government retirement plans for every citizen.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
When I served Senator Cruz as his East Texas Regional Director I traveled across the 5th Congressional District and beyond talking and listening to voters. I understand their concerns, I understand their needs, I understand federal policy. I would work with these constituents and our D.C. based policy team to enact conservative policy solutions. My activism has made me a fighter, but I was never an activist for activisms sake alone, it has always been a means to bring about conservative change. I first took my activism for helping found Grassroots America - We The People, then I took it to the Tyler City Council, then I took it to getting Senator Cruz elected and serving him and the people of East Texas. Now I am prepared to take it further still to the U.S. House of Representatives where I will fight, where I will lead, where I will win on the people's behalf.
