Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should never be allowed. Abortion is by definition the intentional killing of a child in the womb. Their are very rare medical situations and conditions that require a procedure to save the mother's life. These procedures are designed to save the mother's life first, but sadly result in the removal of the unborn baby resulting in its death. The purpose of this procedure is life preservation, the purpose of abortion is life ending.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our founders understood human nature. They knew that times change, but human nature never changes. They understood the dark motives of man as well as the virtuous nature of man. In the drafting of our constitution, they instituted principles and institutions that would place a check on power, insulate the dark nature and encourage the virtuous nature. The separation of powers prevents the darker nature of man from transforming our government into an oppressive or tyrannical government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes that Jesus died on the cross for me. I believe that we are all sinners and are only saved through Grace.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have a conservative record in my elected position on the school board. I have been a conservative and Republican since I was in high school. I have been a member of many Republican clubs and committees. My husband is a long-time former Republican elected District Attorney.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The most proven way to bring down unemployment is to grow the economy which creates jobs. People create jobs, not the government. By limiting regulations and cutting taxes, business have the ability to expand and invest which creates new jobs. However, the climate has to be one of conservative values so businesses have the motivation and confidence in their economy. Small business owners create millions of jobs. As a small business owner, I understand job creation.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Increased competition between insurance companies across state lines and focusing more on preventative care.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Lower taxes and less regulations. The government gets in the way of the economy more often than not.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
As a local attorney, I am a professional problem solver. I represent people, mostly abused and neglected children, in courtrooms across our district- many times against the government bureaucracy. As an attorney, I spend most of my day with the people of our district in the worst possible situations. I listen to their problems, then role up my sleeves to go to work for them- fighting for them as their professional representative. As the next State Rep. for HD4, I will do the same for the citizens I represent. I will listen to their problems and issues, roll up my sleeves and fight for them. I've also spent my entire life in this district and know it better than any other candidate. I deal with all walks and facets of life in solving people's problems. I am a community and business leader and respected by other leaders to get the job done.
