Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I follow the Catholic Church’s well-reasoned and faithful positions on abortion. Therefore, I support outlawing abortion.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The United States must fight radical Islamic terrorism at its economic and ideological roots. Growing the United States economy will reduce the chance of home-grown extremists. For foreign-based radical Islamic terrorism, the United States must use a carrot and stick approach. Using economic incentives to develop economies in countries where terrorism may flourish while aggressively attacking radical Islamic terrorist groups where ever we find them.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

America’s Founders recognized that mankind naturally seeks to accrue power. American’s Founders rightly took action to limit and channel this basic feature of mankind through a written Constitution, which includes many checks and balances.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a proud Catholic who believes that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I strive to live the values of Jesus Christ as shown through scripture.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would repeal ObamaCare and implement tax reform, market reform, and individual consumer reforms to restore market forces to the healthcare market.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The proper role of the federal government in boosting the economy is to get out of the way of the American people. The American people, through their companies and small businesses, create jobs and make the United States economy the best in the world. The federal government often impedes this growth through regulatory overreach. The federal government’s economic role should be limited to providing the necessary infrastructure, the rule of law, and security that allows the American people to do what they do best—create jobs!

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Building on the success of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act, Congress should make all temporary tax measures permanent and continue to lower rates while simplifying the tax code.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is by cutting regulation and government interference in the economy so that companies and small businesses can create jobs.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We must responsibly and predictably reform Social Security to match the changing circumstances of the American people and to re-focus Social Security on those most in need.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am qualified because of my combat leadership, community leadership, and conservative leadership. A graduate of Texas A&M University, I was a Ranger-qualified infantry officer that deployed to Iraq twice. I led Lone Star Veterans Association and marriage preparation for engaged couples at my church. As a Duke Law School graduate and an attorney at Baker Botts, I practiced complex energy trial law and defended churches' religious freedom on a pro bono basis.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

My wife and I are proud parents of three amazing daughters. I want to make character count again in Congress because we owe it to future generations to do what we say will do in Congress. Regarding question #4,I strongly agree marriage should be defined between one man and one woman, but I also believe that definition should be crafted by the church and not the government because I believe marriage is a union between man, woman, and God.
