We must stop borrowing money from the social security program and have legislation that will reform our entitlement programs. A topic few in Washington are willing to talk about.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All sectors of government spending should be examined for waste. Many government agencies are engaged in a game with our tax dollars. They spend every dime they are allocated to ensure they are given more in the next spending bill. This practice must be put to an end.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
A taxpayer should pay off a student loan if that taxpayer took out said student loan. Talk of "free" college is a mirage and an attempted giveaway by reckless politicians. Access to higher education, and access to grants and loans is critical, but subsidizing spiraling tuition costs will only drive them up higher.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

I am a God-fearing man. My Christian principles are always with me. Separation of church and state is our duty to follow God's law as individuals, but the Constitution as Americans. Our fealty to the Constitution is what makes Americans and enables a civil society.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Avoiding the pitfalls of adding ever-increasing layers of bureaucracy and government control that some Democrats are suggesting. Affordable healthcare is not going to come from government legislation, government can provide guidelines in which a robust healthcare market can exist and competition can drive prices down and treatment quality up. I am personally acutely aware of how competition and innovation allows new cures to be found and treatments to be performed. Adding more government to our healthcare system will not fix anything.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

We must remain vigilant and strong which means providing the tools through funding and equipment for our intelligence and military to do their jobs.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Americans should be able to defend themselves and own firearms. The 2nd amendment was not referring to hunting it was referring to the rights of the people to protect and defend themselves.

I have authored pro-life legislation, co-authored healthcare reform and military funding legislation. I also was the first Republican in the last session to file a resolution that proclaimed our commitment to Israel and its security.

We should respect one another as Americans. Racism and bigotry will unfortunately always be in the hearts of some, but our nation has made tremendous strides. We should be proud of our country, aware of our past, and working together for a more perfect union.
