I have a strong conservative voting record when I was in office from 91-99. Strong pro life voting record; strong on all issues. Active in Texas Conservative Coalition. Received all the awards from groups in the past. I passed the Texas Castle Law; co authored concealed carry, ban on personal income tax; joint authored ending revolving door of convicted violent felons. I carried term limits to House Floor failing by one vote. I served on Tyler City Council. In 1984, I authored and passed the FIRST ever city resolution (nationwide) requesting Planned Parenthood not open an office in my home town. Passed 4-3.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Raise expectations so more graduate from high school; provide job based skills course for younger students so they have skills that are employable. Welfare reforms that encourage and reward work and education.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Open insurance markets across State lines; promote competition within the market; provide full choices to consumers without all the mandated coverage many don't need or use.
