OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

The state constitution should limit the growth of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.

Strongly Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Strongly Agree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to get job participation is to get more money back in the hands of the people so they can invest in their small businesses, purchase goods and services which grows the economy and brings down unemployment. Small businesses are the biggest generator of jobs, not the government.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government needs to reduce taxes, burdensome regulations and get out of the way of businesses. It is not the function of government to pick winners and losers in the business world. The government should provide a safe climate for business to grow without trying to regulate it.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Government really doesn't belong in the Healthcare business; doctors should be free to be small business owners pursuing their passion in medicine. The best way to promote affordable healthcare is through deregulation of the health insurance industry to make it more competitive. Reducing the regulations that insurance companies put on doctors and free them up to practice medicine, will provide a better atmosphere and better healthcare for all. Practices such as Atlas MD Direct Medical care in Wichita, KS that began to offer concierge medicine after Obamacare was passed, show what free market principles can do for medicine to benefit both doctors and patients.

NATIONAL SECURITY

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.

Strongly Disagree

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Disagree

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The same impulses in man that lie as the foundation for the Ten Commandments. Although Lord Acton came along 100 years after the Constitution was written, his axiom that "power corrupts; and absolute power corrupts absolutely" provides a basic insight into the rationale for a separation of powers. By recognizing both man's natural & inalienable rights as coming from God and therefore preceding the law, the Constitution sets out to restrict THE GOVERNMENT, and not the people.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have an amazing personal relationship with Jesus and know who I am in HIM. I understand every day is a gift and I live each to the fullest, while glorifying HIM. I walk in complete faith in all that I do. My greatest fear in Life is standing before the Lord and HIM saying, "Why didn't you trust me to do what I created you to do?”. This is why I am running for HD114. I KNOW that I KNOW that He has called me "for such a time as this". I have a heart for knowing and serving people. I want the people of HD 114 to know me personally and what I stand for. I understand that not all will agree with me on policy, but my hope is they will know that I am for them and will always represent them with integrity. When asked an honest question, I will always give an honest answer. I give them my word that I will be the same for the entire 2-year term and ask that they hold me accountable.

ABOUT YOU

I support using a party caucus to nominate my party's candidate for Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, and I pledge to vote for my party's nominee.

Yes

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2010 General Election, 2010 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2012 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2014 Republican Primary, 2016 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

As a conservative, my views are grounded in reality and reflect what has worked best for our Country over time. I believe in common sense solutions, that balance the rights and RESPONSIBILITIES of the individual versus specialist groups. My long history of working to elect conservatives and to promote those working for conservative public policy solutions underscores my conservative credentials.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have spent 30 years as an entrepreneur and business owner. I possess excellent personal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to build consensus in both business and public settings. Given the rancor and division in politics lately, having a good listener that is respectful and can work with others to find solutions, will provide the commonsense leadership needed in District 114. As President of the Park Cities Republican Women’s club, I grew the membership to one of the largest in Texas. I have a passion for mentoring young adults to become successful in life. I enjoy using my leadership skills to help improve my community.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a committed to work hard and represent all the people in District 114 on the issues that are most important to them. I believe that my background as a small businesswoman has prepared me to deal with economic issues facing Texas today. Our economy is one of the strongest in the nation and having signed both sides of a paycheck, I have gained a real-world perspective about sustaining an economy that will put people to work and give them the opportunity to pursue their American dream. I know that education is a major concern in this district, and I am committed to working with Governor Abbott to not only provide more state funding to the classrooms and teachers, but also providing property tax relief to young families and senior citizens.

I support the death penalty.

Strongly Agree
