What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Simply put, the thirst for freedom. Having lived under the oppressive dictates of King George, the Founders knew how to prevent the same oppression from happening in the government they would create. In the same way that I believe God put a longing to be free in every man & woman, I believe He guided the Founders throughout the Revolution and creation of the U.S. Constitution.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Believer, an evangelical Christian, and a Deacon at First Baptist Church Palestine. Biblical principles, which guide us toward holding Conservative values, are part of my core as an individual.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Unemployment is best brought down with the creation of jobs. In order to create jobs, we must create an economic environment which encourages entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow and prosper. We reduce government regulation on business and reduce the tax burden on those who create jobs. As a small business owner, I know first-hand how hard it is to create and grow a business when the government seems to be doing everything it can to prevent economic growth.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The first step is to continue to push for a full repeal of Obamacare, or the "Affordable" Care Act. We must open up the insurance markets to allow competition across state lines, which will drive premiums down for families.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should get out of the way as much as possible by reducing regulations on small businesses and reducing the tax burden on businesses and families.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Rural representation in the Texas Legislature is shrinking. We have to have a candidate who is from the district to be a strong voice for the people of House District 8. I grew up in the district, my wife and I have raised our family in the district, and I've grown my business here. I know the challenges we face as a community and I'll fight to make sure we have a strong voice on issues that affect us.
