Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is only morally permissible when the mother's life is at risk. Otherwise, there is no justifiable moral reason for allowing abortion. If elected, I will fight to protect the lives of the innocent--those who cannot protect their own lives yet. Abortion is a tragedy, and we must defeat it.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The founders saw firsthand what absolute power does to a nation--they lived under the rule of King George III. They knew that centralized power, whether in an executive or a federal government would lead to tyranny and a destruction of individual liberty. It is this natural tendency that led to a system of checks and balances and a separation of powers. As this system erodes, so does liberty.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
There are several great ways to bring down unemployment, including: increasing investment, better and new job training, rewarding entrepreneurship, and improving education. The state government should focus on all of these issues to combat unemployment and allow Texans the opportunity to live a good life.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Lawmakers should work with doctors and patients to create a framework in which positive free market outcomes can be realized. I believe such a framework would include opening up competition and allowing insurance companies to compete with each other. This competition will lead to lower prices and higher quality. The government should also work to allow more insurance companies to enter the marketplace, which will also decrease costs and increase quality.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should provide a structure for economic growth, which includes lowering regulation, preventing monopolies, and allowing small businesses to thrive. This also includes allowing people to keep more of their own money and rewarding entrepreneurship.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I served 28 years in the U.S. Army. While in the Army I held command and control positions. I attended military leadership schools, and was a teacher.
