Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am 100% pro-life. I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death and believe we must do everything in our power as a society to protect and uphold life as God-given and precious. Under no circumstances should a child's life be aborted.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our nation's founding fathers understood the sinfulness of mankind and designed a system of government that prevents the centralization of power. For power does not come from one man, but from all men, who are created equally by God. The addictive nature of power afflicts almost everyone, and the only true vaccination for such is the limitation of power and term limits. Because power is so corrupting, government's main role is to preserve and protect our individual liberties and freedom.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a committed protestant Christian with traditional family and social values. I believe in marriage as being between a man and a woman, I believe the family structure is vital to raising our kids and maintaining the social fabric of our society, I believe God's word should be present throughout the education of our children, I believe ethics and accountability define a man, and I believe all life is precious and God given and must be protected to the fullest extent possible. Our nation was inspired by God and founded on Christian principles, thus, if I'm elected the next state senator from SD 8, I will continue to espouse my Christian beliefs in a public manner because freedom is based on a virtuous society. I will continue my work and support with Kelly Shackelford to ensure our religious liberty is protected.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Being that I haven't served as a public official, I cannot demonstrate any votes I've personally taken. However, you can visit my facebook, twitter, and website which spell out every conservative policy positions I hold. In addition, I have also supported many candidates with political contributions over the last 30 years who hold strictly conservative values.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to bring down unemployment is through job creation. Slashing burdensome regulations and taxes, allowing businesses to thrive and raise profits, will create jobs and lower unemployment. In summary, the role of government is to provide the infrastructure for each individual to reach their highest potential and for businesses to thrive. My decades of experience and leadership skills as a successful businessman provide me the know-how to ensure SD 8 and the state of Texas, remain the beacon of liberty and prosperity for the world. Just as I have achieved results in my business, I intend to achieve successful results in the Texas Senate, while maintaining my commitment to conservative principles, by uniting Republicans around a common objective - something we do on a daily basis in business.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The answer to the failure of Obamacare is repeal and replace. We must emphasize putting medical decisions back in the hands of doctors and patients and open up competition across state lines. The free market is always the answer when affordability and options are lacking.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government's role is to provide the platform and infrastructure for business creation and growth. This includes lowering taxes and regulations, and establishing judicial certainty. The government should not be involved in picking and choosing winners and losers. As the next state senator from SD 8, I will never be for sale, nor succumb to special interests. I will only serve in the best interests of all residents in Texas Senate District 8. The government's role should strictly pertain to supporting the free market principles which make America the most successful economy in the world.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Decades of experience creating jobs, balancing budgets, meeting deadlines, and achieving results. In my career, the company I have co-founded has built communities that tens of thousands of Texans now call home. I have been active in Republican politics since I was a teenager and have served as both a State and National Delegate and then as Chairman of one of the largest Republican Parties in the country. I ran and won the race for Dallas Co. GOP chair, where we turned a bankrupt and demoralized party around, fixing our financial woes, growing precinct chairs by 29%, and getting the Republican grassroots in Dallas back on track.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I and my family have been dedicated to the conservative cause for many decades. Since I was a boy I have been hard at work for conservative candidates. At every election I have been walking, making phone calls, and helping raise money for conservative candidates. From Ronald Reagan, to Ted Cruz, to Ron and Rand Paul, I always look for the true conservatives in a race, and put my shoulder to the wheel for them. Being a member of the DFW business community means holding conservative views, and being vocal about them, isn’t often popular. That’s never slowed me down. From running a campaign to revive the Dallas Co. GOP, to helping my brother take down a long time liberal Republican Senator, “good” isn’t good enough when it comes to being a Republican. I look forward to the opportunity to be your next state senator and use my decades of experience and leadership skills to create results and get strong conservative legislation enacted.
