QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is the destruction of God’s creation, and is a dispicable practice that we will be accountable for as a society. Not only those who chose to engage in this act will be judged, but also those who sat passively by will also stand accountable. You see, I am not able to carry a child to term, which is why I understand the blessing and miracle that God allows some of us to experience. To destroy His people is wrong and unjust and we must stop this exercise.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
The state constitution should limit the growth of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Less governmental interference and regulations result in expansion of business, as well as increased business start-ups. As businesses expand, they require additional labor, which leads to the hiring of more people, and the reduction in unemployment. As a part owner in a mid-sized business, I know first hand that time spent on governmental compliance takes away from time we spend chasing and expanding the business.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
See answer to question #31.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I don’t think that it is the govenrment’s responsibility to provide healthcare coverage for the masses. If you’ve experienced the joys of waiting in line at a government facility, you will quickly learn that they may not be the best equipped to handle the healthcare need of the people. Instead, this business should be competitive and choices should be allowed for the people based on their needs. The government is not the answer, they are the problem - to quote an oldie but goody.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Strongly Disagree
I support sanctuary cities.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.
Strongly Disagree
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
Disagree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our founding fathers sought to distribute the power of the government to the people. They were concerned about one person, or a small group of people, having power over the majority of people. For instance, that is why they created elections & established the electoral college, to ensure that densely populated areas did not have disparate power over less densely populated areas. They sought that all Americans should have a voice in government, regardless of the position they were born.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth. I use my spiritual discernment to guide my judgements and actions and trust that I will one day meet my maker. It is at that time that I will be judged for what I did and failed to do while on Earth, and is the driving force behind why I’m running for office. We must do better, we must step-up when called and sacrifice our time, resources, and ourselves to suffer the attacks of bad actors - it’s a small price to pay in comparison for what our God did for us, and I’m honored to have been chosen.
ABOUT YOU
I support using a party caucus to nominate my party's candidate for Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, and I pledge to vote for my party's nominee.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My mailers, push cards, website (www.votemetzger.com), Twitter (Deanna4StateRep) as well as other social media. Additionally, my endorsements also illustrate my conservative values as being previously vetted and endorsed by the top notch conservative organizations.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I’ve negotiated multi-million dollars deals for the past decade. I’m acutely aware that in order to close a deal, there are certain compromises that one must make; however, there are also other things which are non-negotiable. The art is to know the difference.
E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am the only candidate who went to the Mesquite Independent School District (Elementary, Middle, and graduated High School from M.I.S.D.). I’m a partial owner of a business in Mesquite off of Main Street, as well as a partial owner of a mid-sized construction company. I own a home in Mesquite, and am proud to be from this area. I put myself through law school, and I graduated with honors. I now negotiate multi-million dollar deals, which lead to job retention and job creation. I know what it’s like to be a hard worker, because that is exactly who I am. I will take my education and experience and represent OUR community with integrity.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Disagree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Strongly Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
