Do you support the proposed $850 million bond in its entirety?
No
The $850 million bond is broken into 6 propositions. Which one is most important to you? 1. Streets, bridges & Sidewalks - $446,263,000 2. Drainage & Flood - $138,988,000 3. Parks & Recreation - $187,313,000 4. Library & Cultural - $24,025,000 5. Public Safety Facilities – $34,411,000 6. Neighborhoods – $20 million
1. Street Bridges and Sidewalks and 2. Drainage and Flood are of equal concern to me.
Which of the above six propositions would you vote against? (list all that apply)
All of the propositions have merit some more than others. I don't necessarily disagree with any of them. What I do see is some problems with long term operating and maintenance costs of several of the projects. For exapmle, the bond has the citizens building a senior center in my district, and there are no long term costs associated with that. Does a building need to be heated and cooled, maintained, accounted for on city tax roles, staffed, etc - of course it does. Where is that money going to come from? Another problem with the bond is there are several projects that are only funded if another entity steps up and fills the cost gap. One example is the Bulverde Road/1604 turn-around in District 10. To answer this question concretely isn't possible for me as each proposition has good things in it that may benefit all of our districts.

Additional comment from candidate:
I am here to represent my district, to be their collective voice. My self interests are not in play here, the district and the health of our city transcends my personal priorities. I intend on making myself completely available to residents of district 9. Transparency, honesty, and availability with the professional skill-set to actually listen to my neighbors concerns and turn those concerns into actionable tasks at the city hall is my intent. I am not afraid to try something different, I feel we have to manage and lead our city together, there is no such thing as one good idea.
