OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Do you support the proposed $850 million bond in its entirety?

No

The $850 million bond is broken into 6 propositions. Which one is most important to you? 1. Streets, bridges & Sidewalks - $446,263,000 2. Drainage & Flood - $138,988,000 3. Parks & Recreation - $187,313,000 4. Library & Cultural - $24,025,000 5. Public Safety Facilities – $34,411,000 6. Neighborhoods – $20 million

I am AGAINST all six bond propositions.

Which of the above six propositions would you vote against? (list all that apply)

I am AGAINST ALL six bond propositions. This bond package is noting more than a special interest/special friends wish list. I have personally picked out $187 million in obvious waste. The first problem I have is the current city council's attempt at doubling down our debt over the next ten years. They have proposed that after this bond we will be asked for $750 million in 2022 and $650 million in 2027. They are selling this by saying that our taxes won't go up because one million people are moving here. What happens if they don't? What are we going to have for infrastructure once they get here? The Broadway project of $42 million is a prime example. They are taking away a traffic lane for what was thought to be a bike lane. If you look at the VIA Vision 2040 map, it shows rapid bus/light rail on that stretch. They are using all avenues to get all of their wish lists completed while hanging the taxpayers on the line for the bill.

Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The more people live by Judeo-Christian values, the less government is needed.

Strongly Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Disagree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

More restrictive gun control laws are needed to protect public safety.

Strongly Disagree

Planned Parenthood should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Individuals should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on their "gender identity."

Neutral

It is inappropriate for a local government to recognize the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” and issue rules relating to an individual's beliefs about gender and sexuality.

Neutral

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

There should be strict enforcement of federal and state laws prohibiting the distribution of obscene pornography, including over the Internet.

Neutral

I support tolling existing highways that have been previously un-tolled.

Strongly Disagree

Government should not discriminate against individuals, organizations, or business owners who affirm marriage as between one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Marijuana should be legalized and regulated like tobacco and alcohol.

Strongly Agree

I own one or more firearms.

Yes

I support the use of Collective Bargaining.

Strongly Agree

I believe the current City Manager should be replaced.

Yes

Did you contribute 10% or more of your gross income to charity last year?

Yes

If you own a business, please describe.

My wife and I own two small businesses based out of San Antonio. The first, we provide EMS training, education, and consulting. The second, a triathlon coaching and personal training business.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I believe that our founding fathers were working under a calling of God. To think that they could have such forecast of what our great country might need. What they didn't know, is that what they had to volunteer for would become a cash cow for people to setup shop and not do what is right to their employer - THE VOTERS that voted them in.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a radically accepting Christian and have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I live each day according to the words of God and Jesus Christ. I read bible scripture daily and am actually in the process of becoming ordained as I feel I have a calling at some point in the ministry. My family calls City Church - Bandera Road Campus our church home. I do not judge people based on their decisions because that is not my job and people have to answer for their own short comings when their judgement day comes.
