EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

Did not answer

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

Elected school boards must not abdĆcate their role in ensuring a challenging and rigorous curriculum in our school district.

Please rate in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Mathematics, Science, English and Writing, History, Language Arts and Art & Music are all core curriculum in my view.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

ABOUT YOU

Why are you running for this office?

I am running to continue to serve the students, parents and teachers of the FWISD. In many ways we have had a "lost year" for so many students and families. This pandemic has made the job of educators extremely difficult with so many teachers having to do "double duty" of in-person and remote teaching. For both teachers and students this has meant having to learn new skill sets and new approaches to succeed. I plan to be here for another four years to help steady our schools and refocus efforts district-wide on academic performance.

A candidate's personal moral values should not be relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.

Neutral

Which of the 11 objectives specified in the Texas Education Code is your highest priority?

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Moderate
