OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
Disagree
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Disagree
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Disagree
The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.
Agree
The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.
Neutral
I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Disagree
The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.
No Answer
Current regulations on domestic oil exploration and drilling are more restrictive than are necessary.
Disagree
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.
Agree
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Disagree
More restrictive gun control laws are needed to protect public safety.
Neutral
The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self-interest into the most productive economic system there is.
Agree
Governments should pay to develop wind and solar energy solutions until they are economically feasible.
Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States.
Disagree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with public funds.
Strongly Disagree
People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
The existing constitutional interpretation of Roe v. Wade is a reasonable compromise. I believe our government should not interfere with personal choices regarding health, women have a right to privacy and to make their own decisions regarding their health. If the health of the mother is at risk, then a woman and her doctor must be able to make such a decision without delay.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our propensity for accumulating power for its own sake, and for wielding it with increasing certainty. The more power an individual or group has acquired, the more effective their actions, increasing belief in their own infallibility. Strict limits including the separation of powers and checks and balances in our Constitution, allow for stability and discourages abuses.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
We need more citizen legislators. I have not held public office before, and I do not plan to become a career politician. If elected, I will support legislation to get money out of politics, place tighter restrictions on lobbyists, and apply term limits to Congress. Government must be accountable, responsive and transparent in matters of public policy.

Additional comment from candidate:
Wind and solar power are already economically feasible for power production. Photo-voltaic solar will continue to drop in price. In combination with power storage technology, it can be used to decentralize power production for a more resilient power grid. Reducing carbon emissions and pursuing a carbon sequestration policy will be imperative if we want to keep our existing ports and coastal cities. I see no problem with accepting refugees, of course, background checks and the usual requirements for seeking citizenship should apply. However, I dislike the way the question was posed above as depending on emphasis agreeing or disagreeing could mean the same thing.
