Women need access to abortion care in the cases of fetal anomalies or to protect her health. We need exceptions when a woman’s health, including mental health, is at risk, or for severe abnormality of the new life.

The need for balanced power across government was so that government would not tyrannize the people.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Good-Paying Jobs — Our community needs good-paying jobs. Kelly will bring new businesses to Lorain County and help workers grow their skills by expanding skills training opportunities.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

There are families in Avon Lake, Elyria and the entirety of Ohio, who can’t afford the care needed for their families. What are these families going to do? Representatives of these people need to do better, and that is what I plan to do if elected. I will stand to support medicaid and push for state supported services to treat mental health and addictions.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Focusing on education and strengthening Ohio's workforce with general, higher, or career technical education will make a big impact on Ohio's economy by making education accessible and affordable, we build relationships with business creating a stronger network to support the future of Ohio.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Kelly Kraus Mencke is a wife, mother, working woman, and candidate for Ohio House District 55. She aims to bring truthfulness and accountability to the Ohio House. Kelly understands the struggle Ohio families are faced with in the full lives of working parents. She has listened to what you care about in a law maker and what you expect from your state government. As a working mom, Kelly knows the challenges middle-class families face. She worked her way through college at Cleveland State University and went on to a successful marketing career, serving as the Sustainability Coordinator and Charitable Giving Director for a global PR group. Kelly has also served as president of the Board of Trustees of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Lorain County, and as interim director of the American Liver Foundation in Ohio. Now, Kelly is running for State Representative to create more opportunity for all our families to get ahead.
