QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Neutral

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In the event of sexual assault or in the event of an imminent threat to the life of the mother.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government does not have authority to define a specific religion as the "national religion". It is freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Government should not have the authority to eliminate personal religious practices anywhere.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The healthcare insurance industry must be deregulated, so that the free market can offer a broad range of options. Individuals must be allowed to choose for themselves what level of healthcare coverage they choose to seek. Every individual must be responsible for their own healthcare payment options.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All government spending which involves bureaucratic overhead, corporatism, cronyism, and fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer-funded programs need to be reduced. Government spending across the board has spiraled out of control and must be reined in.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I still believe in the inscription at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty. I believe that we must reform our immigration laws and, once again, provide the shining beacon of freedom upon which our nation was built. To do this, we must have common sense immigration reform that protects our citizens from those who would come into our country for nefarious purposes while still allowing those to come here who wish to pursue "The American Dream".

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe that any restriction on gun ownership violates the 2nd Amendment.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Elimination of state individual income tax. Elimination of state personal property tax on primary residence. Decriminalization and legalization of cannabis.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

All forms of racism pose a threat to the domestic tranquility. We must work as a society to reduce the negative impact of racism, without government mandate and intervention, which only compounds the issues that racism creates. We cannot eliminate racism, but we can work together to reduce its impact.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

www.rainwaterforindiana.com/issues

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I believe in government of the people, for the people, and by the people. I do not believe that any education or experience, beyond being a taxpaying citizen who meets the Constitutional requirements of the State of Indiana, are necessary. The decision is up to the voters.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I believe that government, as defined by Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence, is instituted to protect the rights of the Individual. Government should not be engaged in restricting the unalienable rights of Individuals, especially in order to provide an unfair advantage to someone else.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that a person's spritual beliefs and values are personal. I am a born-again Christian who believes that every person's relationship with God is between them and God, not for public evaluation and judgement.
