Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I believe it was due to being ruled by a king. The founders were not very happy with one man, thousands of miles away no less, having the power to create laws that they felt were unjust. They created the separate and limited powers to make sure that the newly created government did not have the same abilities as the king to make laws and levy taxes without representation from the populace.

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

It should be allowed as the current laws dictate. However, I do think there should be much more attention spent on preventing unwanted pregnancies, which prevents abortions. I also feel strongly that the children that are born to parents who do not want to raise them (adoption, etc.) should also receive more support. Adoption and foster care should become much easier to obtain for those who want children. There are already many, many children who have no parents or foster parents raising them, and many of these children are poor and hungry. We need to address that issue.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My spiritual beliefs are personal. I also believe that is how everyone's should be. If they would like to disclose them to others, that is their prerogative. I would describe myself as spiritual but not religious. I believe every person has the right to choose what or who to believe in.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Moderate

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I do not believe my publicly available voting record on Youngsville Borough Council will do much in the way of defending my previous answer. I gather as much information as possible on each issue I am to vote on and then digest it and make the best decision based on the information gathered. I talk to as many stakeholders and experts as possible on each issue.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you.

Additional comment from candidate:

Many, if not all of these questions are asked with an inherent bias. Some questions I had to answer as neutral because there was not a place to provide a brief explanation. Sometimes I agreed with one part of the statement, but not the second part, therefore I answered neutral. For claiming to be a nonpartisan voters guide, there are many inherent partisan undertones to the questionnaire. I felt like I was answering questions on a standardized test. I do not believe that converting everyone to Christianity will somehow remove all the evil in the country. I believe in free speech and the right to choose what I believe in, not have someone dictate to me what I should say or how I should act. Moral and character does not come from religion, it comes from within. I am a registered Independent, however this guide has my party listed as Democrat. I was successfully written in on the Democratic ballot for the general election this November.
