OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Neutral

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Prevent with our laws and enforcement any such activity in the United States. Provide aid to nations and peoples to do this elsewhere in the world.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Governments tend to grow and control the life, liberty, and property of the citizens. This a negative tendency of people and government. The founder's goal was to preserve the God-given rights of Americans and to build a limited government that would preserve those rights.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a deeply committed Christian. I accept the King James Bible as the word of God. My six children and I completely share this view. My wife died when they were 12, 10, 8, 6, 6, and 2 years old. I brought them up in this absolute belief. I am a scientist, and see no conflict between sound science and this view.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have written a book entitled "Common Sense in 2012" for my congressional campaigns. It is widely available on-line and on my web sites and clearly sets out my views.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Yes

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

It should limit its activities that suppress the economy. Taxation and regulation have grown far too much and prevent productive free Americans from prospering and competing in the world.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Lower taxes - a lot.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Reduce taxes and regulations.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Insist that the Social Security trust funds are held in real assets. Currently, Congress spends these funds and pays with US T-bonds, which are no more than IOUs from the U.S. Congress. Congress must tax the citizens a second time to repay these bonds and make this money available.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

1. Worked 6 years with the Reagan Administration on national preparedness and defense during the Cold War 2. Worked in science and in gaining the signatures of 31,000 American scientists in opposition to the failed hypothesis of human-caused global warming 3. Wrote and published the newsletter Access to Energy on science as it affects national affairs for the past 25 years 4. Hold degrees in chemistry from Caltech and UCSD 5. Am widely known as a research leader in three fields. a. Molecular clocks in protein molecules. b. Diagnostic medicine c. Nutrition and cancer. 6. Founded and direct the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine - a world class research institute that has never solicited or accepted any tax funds or other government support during its 36 years of operation.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Please refer to my book "Common Sense in 2012." I have been strongly recommended by Martin Kamen Edward Teller Steve Forbes Frederick Seitz Scott Carpenter Harrison Schmidt Ron Paul And many others. I will renew endorsements after the primary. I have won four Republican primaries here in a row, but it would be presumptuous of me to ask for renewed endorsements before I win this one.
